Why should you listen to me?

I'm a rank 10 Mercury player with over 2,000 kills and 130+ exclusive arena wins on him. My KDR is currently a 2.3:1 and I've spent hours upon hours trying out builds. So far, this one is the build I find the most effective in Arena gameplay.

Fastest Boxer Alive

Why this build? I've tried nearly 20 builds with Mercury in game and this one has given me a 2:1 KDR currently, highest of any other build I've tried.

Why Heartseeker ?



If you are experienced in Smite enough to know how to survive and stay alive for long periods of time, Heartseeker is the best possible item you can put on a Mercury. Because of Mercury's ult, H.S. gives Mercury 85 physical power and a 10% speed boost. Remember: at ~4:30, try and kill as many outside camps as you can, always aiming for speed buffs. The stacks and extra gold help tremendously for snowballing.

Why Warrior's Tabi ?



I've tried so many different builds without using any boots, and they just don't work. Like I mentioned above, Merc's ult takes good use of speed boost of warrior's tabi, the attack speed and damage are exactly what you need early game. At this point, you're already faster than any god with any equal monetary combination of items. (excluding stupid midas)


Why Malice ?



Malice or Rage are both suitable items, it depends which you like more. They end up being nearly the same item at the end of the game. Crit is the game you're playing with merc. The more the merrier.


Why Deathbringer?



I use it mostly so I can take entire chunks out of mage's HP from far away, slowly breaking down their team. Adding 50% damage to your crits helps you incredibly when in a tight pinch.




Why Golden Bow?


Honestly, it can be switched out for other items if the situation requires it, but the Damage, movement speed and critical chance never hurt. Plus the movement speed ends up giving you ~41 damagein stead of the 35 it says.

I've changed it to a build for now. I'll add more commentary in later, just wanted to get this out there first.

looks unfinished.
try to edit the items with double square brackets , add chapters like actives , pros\cons , situational items (like if you start to die in late teamfights - what do you change the Heartseeker with? what about alternatives to Golden Bow ?) etc.
Is a Build untill then , not a Guide.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
