Hi, this guide is brought to you by lestimics. I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2014. I've been playing competitively since 2020 and have been a professional Smite player from 2021 to 2023. I've played on different teams like JustF6, Gilded Gladiators or Tartarus Titans.

Ability 1 -
ConvictionHeals nearby allies for health in an area around you. Healing allied gods reduces Guan Yu and his allies cooldowns (this is very important because you and your teammates will be able to spam your abilities).Can be cast during any of Guan Yu's other abilities.

Ability 2 -
 Warrior's WillDash forward, dealing physical damage to and slowing enemies you pass through. Hitting enemy gods reduces your cooldowns. Just like your first ability reduces cooldown, you'll be able to spam your abilities non-stop, giving you a lot of kill potential. |

Ability 3 -
 Taolu Assault Guan Yu swing his blade forward in a flurry, dealing physical damage repeatedly and stealing their protections.It is the main ability with which you will do more damage and push the minions. |

Ultimate -
 Cavalry Charge Guan Yu mount a warhorse gaining crowd control immunity. Strike enemies while riding dealing physical damage. Dismount with a final swing that also stuns all enemies hit (It is important to know that if you cancel the ability before you will also stun, in case you want to stun quickly).Enemies hit by previous strikes take increased damage from the strike. Swing faster as you gain attack speed. |
Taolu Assault one basic attacks > Warrior's Will one basic attack > Conviction > basics attacks and repeat the secuence. Taolu Assault > Warrior's Will and finish with basic attacks. Cavalry Charge that's why it's important to cancel this ability fast in the late game.
Taolu Assault, if you have 
Sundering Arc use it to do the blue fast, and then go to the lane to push the minions. If you don't lose any minions you will go up to level 2 when you manage to kill one more minion from the next wave of minions. Taolu Assault in front of the melee minions to hit all minions, and continue hitting basics attacks to the minions with the passive Battle Fervor you will have more attack speed. Guan Yu are very bad, until you get to level 8 you are weak in the 1vs1. But the more levels you get, the more useful you will be. Guan Yu is a character that you have to play with the team because that is where he has the most potential, thanks to his heals and cooldown reductions in addition to the chase and stun that you can do with your ultimate Cavalry Charge to look for some kills and try to do some objectives like the Gold Fury or the Pyromancer.
Conviction to heal and reduce cooldown of your and your teammates (you can do attrition fights thanks to this), also remember that the ultimate stun is very useful and you don't need to hit all the hit before the final stun, almost always more useful to stun ahead of time. It is very important to constantly call your team so that they follow you when you perform a stun. Conviction to slowly poke the phoenix without risks amd destroy the Phoenix with the help of your carry and mid. You can also go with your jungle to another Phoenix to create pressure since you have a lot of defense to tank and your jungle can do good damage to the Phoenix easily.
