Passive: Blessed Presence: Each completed aura item that Ares' owns grants him 30 additional magical power.
This ability will be the basis of this whole guide. I know to some, an additional 30 Magical Power does not seem like a lot, and other might say "Why would I want to waste space when I can build tanky without power?" But to all those I say, IT. IS. WORTH. IT!
While, granted, you will not have all the same protections and benefits of fully building tanky with this build, you will be leading the pack in team fights, and might even pull off some ganks of your own early to mid game.
Skill 1: Shackles: Chains extend from Ares' shield, doing damage to all enemies in its path. Hitting a god shackles them to Ares, cripples them, preventing movement abilities, dealing the same damage every second while slowing them and buffing Ares. While shackled, Ares can fire another chain for free within 2s.

Minion Damage: 25 / 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 (+15% of your magical power)
God Damage per Tick: 25 / 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 (+15% of your magical power)

Slow/Speed: 15% per unique Shackle
Duration: 4s
Max Shackles: 3
Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90
Cooldown: 15s
This ability will be your bread and butter early to mid game. As if slowing your enemies and dealing damage over time was not enough, this ability allows you to fire an extra 2 chains, provided you hit your target, and if you do, they will be feeling the hurt.
Your primary goal with this ability is to slow down your opponents, while sapping away their health, and set up for a gank by either yourself, if they are of low enough hp, or by a teammate in prime position. Take note that you must stay fairly close in order for the shackles to stay on, about the length of a minion wave.
Skill 2: Bolster Defenses: Ares strengthens the defenses of himself and all nearby allies, granting protections and reducing crowd control durations. For each shackled enemy, the protection buffs are increased.
Ability: Buff
Affects: Self/Allies
Radius: 35
Protections: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40
CC Reduction: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 %
Lifetime: 8s
Shackle Bonus: 7
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80
Cooldown: 15s
This ability, though not invested in till the very end, is actually one of Ares' best tanking abilities. The only reason that this is not invested in sooner is that his other abilities need points to become relevant, and the first level of this, in my opinion, is all Ares needs for the majority of the game.
I mainly only use this ability when charging a tower for a gank, or if I know a team fight is immanent. Generally, you want to Shackles someone before using this to get the bonus, but sometimes that does not always work.
Skill 3: Searing Flesh:Flames pour forth from Ares' shield, engulfing enemies in a cone in front of him damage every .5s for 4s. Ares is immune to knockback for the duration.
Ability: Cone
Affects: Enemy
Damage: Magical
Damage per Tick: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 (+7% of your magical power)
Max Health per Tick: 1 / 1 / 2 / 2 / 3 %
Damage (Total): 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 / 280 (+56% of your magical power)
Health % Damage (Total): 8 / 8 / 16 / 16 / 24% of the target's maximum health
Cost: 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75
Cooldown: 12s
Not much to say for this ability, a decent early game poking tool, and not bad for clearing minions and camps late game.
Generally, use this immediately after using your No Escape skill to maximize the damage. The only other note I can think of is that you are slowed down while using this skill. I am not sure of the extent of the slow, but it appears to be your default movement speed.
Skill 4: No Escape:Ares throws chains out to all enemy gods in an area around him. All enemies hit by the chains are pulled to Ares after 2.5s, taking damage and are stunned plus additional time for each enemy god hit by the ability.
Ability: Area
Affects: Enemy Gods
Damage: Magical
Radius: 35
Damage: 200 / 275 / 350 / 425 / 500 (+40% of your magical power)
Stun: 1s + .2s per enemy god hit
Cost: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100
Cooldown: 90s
Now this is where Ares gets fun. There are few gods who have the ability to set up for ganks quite like Ares' No Escape. This ability drags back all enemies to you, regardless of how far they run, and the stun is extended for each foe that you hit, again, regardless of if they are actually pulled in or not.
Since you and your lane partner(if you are not in solo) will generally hit level 5 at the same point, your first No Escape will generally be using synced ultimates and will likely result in a kill or two. Generally speaking, once a No Escape produces a mass death, a team will but Beads to counter it, do not let this deter you. Not only is there a chance that your opponent's Beads are on cooldown, but you still do damage to them and extend the stun of the remaining opponents. In the early game, this can be used to gets a gank or two of your own, buy pulling enemies into your tower and then immediately Shackling them.
Each person who wants to build in auras can do so in almost any order they want, as the item build will most likely be based on your opponents. Generally speaking, due to the protections, Sovereignty is a generally good first aura pick, then the Piece for Lifesteal. After bolstering your team sufficiently, adding Void Stone and Witchblade can start to work on weakening your enemies, all while making you stronger. Replace your first item after you have reached your sixth, If it comes to getting a 6th aura, replacing your boots is an option.

For future reference: This is not a site where you can just make an account, make a guide, get out. This is a site where we want quality guides that people actually learn from. We're mostly to blame here; Our description seems to say that we're a site where anybody can make a guide. Instead, this site is meant to be a collection of quality guides for each god, outlining different viewpoints and styles of play. In short, if you don't want to put in the effort to make a top guide, don't make one.
Don't take this too harshly; you were innocent in your actions and motivations. If you want to make the guide top-tier quality, by all means, do so. If you don't, please archive it - we don't need another guide that nobody looks at, let alone take seriously.
god, it's hard to be both to-the-point and caring...
There is no gameplay section at all, the item section is short and doesn't give me much information at all, and it's also wall-of-texty.
The skill section is fine, maybe a little messy, although could use some BBCoding.
Sorry, it's a downvote for now. I'd gladly change my vote if you make good revisions.
