Sorry you feel this way. I think it would be valuable to hear opinions from a player who has so much experience on the god. At the same time, when presenting your information you need to be open to constructive criticism. I hope you reconsider working on an Arthur guide.

I am definitely open to constructive criticism if I know it's an improvement. I'm always asking my friends how to improve in other ways. (They're the ones who invited my into their smite group and showed me how to really excel at smite.) I've played Arthur in pretty much every way you can think of over the years. Flat out telling me "those items suck" on a character that I know for a fact work very well on, is just annoying. Absolutely open to constructive criticism. I might end up making a new guide if/when I feed like getting around to it.

DV-8 provides great comments.

So in this vein, let me provide my own feedback which I hope you take as constructive.
  • Firstly, understand that for most people, here and elsewhere, the first thing people will assume (if not clarified) is that the build should be considered for Conquest. No, it's not the most popular mode, but it's the [only serious] mode (haha, joke for the elitists). But that's just how it is. So being able to clarify a couple things such as intended game mode and gameplay style will immediately help to give readers context and open their minds a bit more. E.g., stating this is not for conquest and maybe that this is for an off-meta Support gameplay type (which I now see you've added in the build notes), helps a lot. However, it shouldn't be hidden in the notes section. I would put an indication either in the title or at the beginning of the writeup.

Additional understanding given since you experienced updating issues when you first started working on this.

  • Now, the rest of my comments will go to your skill leveling and your itemization.

  • Skill leveling: again (per my initial comment), what's going on with the skill leveling? Was this just thrown in there as a placeholder, or is this actually how you level (noting you can put points in as shown in the first 3 levels due to playing Siege)? I will say that I would expect a point in each of the 3 abilities in the first 3 levels just to help with 1) CC and 2) ability variation. Level 3 is a strong level for Arthur due to having access to 6 abilities, but I'm sure you know that being an 11-star Arthur. I can sort of get it due to strong starting damage potential putting 2 points into his 1st ability, but would be good to know that's your reasoning...and then to see a point in his 2nd ability at least by level 4.

  • For the itemization, knowing now it's for a supportive role, the items make a lot more sense (in general). That said, when you're going all defensive items (except for the bruiser item Gladiator's Shield makes Bluestone Pendant a bit of a head scratcher. Maybe it's for early game pressure, but then instead of selling Pendant getting Brooch is just not that effective IMO. Brooch's damage is taken as physical damage, but with no penetration (flat or %), that damage is significantly mitigated even by squishy gods. In a defense-heavy build, I just wouldn't pick up Brooch, and would second-guess picking up even Pendant to start. Instead, I'd feel it to be more natural and synergistic to go with one of the support starters.

  • For presentation, I would suggest putting all items in the same build tab. You have a separate one for "optional build," as well as situational items etc. Easiest just to put them all together IMO.

Unfortunately I don't think the majority of the itemisation in this guide reflects how King Arthur should be played, especially coming from a supposedly 12K worshiper player.

So far my overall experience on this website, is ****. This version of this guide was a very early (and unfinished) version, but the website refused to "overwrite?" this versions save, even though I'm updating the guide and pressing the save button. So I try the publish option to see which version this website would publish, low and behold, it publishes the incomplete version. So I click on archive guide, to take it off the list, and that clearly didn't work. So I'm just figuring, screw it. Pretty much none of this is finished but this website is garbage. I apologize on behalf of this website for wasting your time.

I'm going to be honest, even if this was an early version of the guide it would have been incorrect.

Outside of maybe Arena and Joust there has never been a time that Gauntlet of Thebes has been solid for King Arthur, let alone any of the other item choices in the order that they are built.

It might help, OP, if you could provide some context and explanation for your itemization.

Also, the skill leveling is absolutely demolished. That might just be lazy input, but it's 100% NOT the way to level skills.
