A Little Bit of Love - S8 Aphrodite Support Build

This section is a bit of a bait, nobody's really stopping you from playing Aphrodite in ranked. The problem is that she will not be very good (unless you're the best Aphrodite player who ever lived) and you will likely get swept by the enemy team.

Aphrodite is a good support, but she does not fulfill the role of support in Conquest.

The problem with Aphrodite on the support role is that she is a character meant to be played in solo or mid lane. She is not a tank, which means she cannot take very many hits. She is very prone to CC because she doesn't have any mobility (unlike most guardian/warrior supports). Her CC is not nearly as good as most other supports.
Fundamentally, her kit was meant to act as a mage that can provide lots of utility to her team with her kiss and ultimate, while doing the damage that a mid/solo laner should be doing. When you play support Aphrodite, you are giving up that damage to only provide support that will realistically not be enough on your own because you don't do enough damage, and you don't provide enough protections.

Speaking of her damage! Aphrodite's abilities scale based on her magic damage. Back Off! scales based on 70% of her magic damage, and Love Birds damage and heal scale off her magic damage.
You will mostly be building protection items on Aphrodite, not damage items. As a result, you will be doing much less damage and healing than you would be if you weren't playing a support role. Items like Lotus Crown and Rod of Asclepius will help because they have magic damage, but it is not enough for you to be able to do more than what an Aphrodite mid/solo and then a normal support character would be able to provide.

I am not trying to denounce Aphrodite on support altogether, she's one of my most played support characters because I find her fun. But in ranked, you will have an extremely hard time pulling your weight and in most cases you are better off just picking a different character. If you want to play a mage support, Baron Samedi is a good option because he offers healing, CC and power much more effectively than Aphrodite because of how his kit is.
