I'm extremely picky with what I write with. I despise writing in pencil. In fact, in the past forever years, I've only bought and used one brand of pen, and that would be the Pilot G-2 pens, which are gel ink pens. I just love how smooth they write and that you only have to apply very little pressure to get clean writing out of them.
Yeah, pens are definitely smoother but I feel like you need expensive ones to really benefit from them. Plus I make mistakes all the time and need to erase. :/

That's the exact pen I use, lol. Although recently, I've been using a cheaper version called EnerGel or something from a weird brand no one knows. But they stack them at my local shop. The pen itself feels a lot cheaper, but I find that it writes just as well, for about half the price.
I always find that the Pilot G-2 pens just run out of ink too fast, and since I'm on a student budget...
