This is a question that's been in my mind for a while.....


What's the difference between KAWAII and MOE?

Kawaii is genuinely cute, as in the character itself is designed to be really,really cute.

Moe is really hard to explain. It's more... Likable because they're so clumsy and naive, as well as a healthy does of cuteness. It's the more depressing of the two because the feeling of moe generally refers to one's liking and urge to 'protect' or 'supervise' a character, rather than the character itself. there's really no general consensus on what moe is, so it tends to vary depending on taste.

If you want examples of what I consider to be moe, things like Komari from Non Non Biyori, Kudryavka Noumi from Little Busters, and the characters from Tamako Market and K-On are moe as well. Rikka from Chuunibyou can also be considered moe as well.
