Pretty much any god can solo as long as you know the god and your matchup well enough. Very few have a truly hard time. Some guardians and Thanatos are arguably the only gods that can't really solo.
Depends on the hunter. Solo artemis can be in for a really rough time against matchups, while someone like solo neith can be absolutely brutal to face and near impossible to kill. Hunters are like that. They all build almost identical, but their kits can either make the perfect solo laner or the worst.

80% of the smite community would go insane over some very basic moba ideas. Like mana conservation, like wave management, etc. It's kinda sad. But I guess that's what happens when you combine MOBAs with CoD. Not that I dislike it, but yeah.
