Freya confusion

I would agree, doom orb is a poor choice for two reasons; First, lost on death items are always a risky choice, and for a good reason. Doom orb is a relatively cheap item that at full build gives 160 magic power, but it comes with a pretty heavy price: you become a primary target for the opposing team. On physical damage dealers, the same is true with heartseeker, but many of the gods that you build it on have a solid escape, and considering freya has to ult to escape, it's just not worth becoming a large target.

To make this worse, the item doesn't really have the return that would be necessary to justify the risk in this game. Red Buff and a solid damage item like book of thoth will give you almost the same amount of damage, and with no risk on death.

Otherwise, experiment with the build and see what you come up with. And yes, boots of celerity is kind of a poor choice; most of the time this is taken by either support tanks or gods that have high enough base damage to make up for lack of penetration and damage.
