pantheon: Norse

lore:when Ymir was slain by the young god Odin, he who would eventually become the king of Asgard, a mighty force was formed in the burning heart of muspell, a force of great violence, flame and fury. this force would become a lord and that lord would eventually kill the bride of mighty Odin and consume the world in his unearthly flames, just for it to be reborn for the people of the next world. until these events occur however, all that is known is name for he is surtur, the lord of muspell and terror to all, for even the gods tremble at his name.

passive:flames of muspell
any enemy gods effected by surtur's ability's will be inflicted with muspell fire for 3-4 seconds and will take 50% extra damage from all of surtur's and his allies basic attacks.

burning blade
swinging his sword in a wide arc ahead of him, surtur deal's reasonable damage while inflicting a burning effect on the enemy, dealing 3-6 damage per second for 3-4 seconds.

molten wave
slashing his sword across the ground and pointing his blade directly at his enemies, surtur summons forth a wave of flaming hands from muspell in a cone (it starts small but grows as it moves forward) which deals medium damage while slowing any enemies it hits for 2-3 seconds.

super heated rage
roaring to the sky, surtur rushes forward dealing medium damage to any enemies hit but once he reaches the end of his charge he smashes his sword into the ground causing the ground to burst in a aofe eruption that knocks enemies back while dealing relatively high damage to any enemies in the area.

a world in flames
calling forth the power of muspell, surtur strikes the ground three times with the first 2 dealing medium damage in a small-medium area around surtur while the final strike dealing massive damage in a large area while causing the ground to turn into muspell earth for 4 seconds causing any enemies that step on it to become inflicted with burning that does 4-6 damage for 4 seconds.

notes: design wise surtur would look like the balrog from lord of the rings but with out the wings and the whip and with a volcanic effect over the rocky sections of his body. he would also have a more upright and human like posture, instead of the beastly posture the balrog has, with flames bursting out of his back at regular intervals. so here is the clue for my next god idea "with sin staining he very soul and the anger of a goddess hovering upon her mind and future, she shall seek to cause more pain than that she has felt and she wont stop until every being is petrified in their terror of her"

First thing, it's Surtr, second Surtr was before Ymir, and third Surtr doesn't kill Odin, Fenrir does, Surtr kills Frey.

1. i have grown up with the marvel name so that's what im used to 2.i didn't know that and i couldn't find anywhere that that was how it worked but thanks for the info and 3.i wrote the bride of Odin, not Odin himself, which if my Norse lore knowledge dosnt fail me that was Freya. (i might be incorrect since im more of a Greek mythology specialist but yeah surtur or surtr caught my attention)

okay just curious but does anyone actually read my clues to the next god cause if you do im dissapointed that no one actually attempts to guess what the next god will be. that either shows a lack of interest or lack of knowledge in my books and im sure you guys aren't either of those.

Odin's wife is Frigg, which despite being similar (and evolved into during the migration period) Freya, is not technically Freya.

and even so Surtr doesn't kill Frigga (or Frigg) in mythology either, matter of fact all they tell about her in Ragnarok is that she goes into a second time of weeping when Odin dies, the first being Baldr, then they just don't mention her at all, it it assumed she just dies when Surtr spreads his fire all over the worlds, encasing everything while also cleansing it.

Well this is a nice idea for the norse. First whoever thinks Surtur was before Ymir is dead wrong cause all giants and most if not all norse gods decended from Ymir. Is this a warrior or assassin.

my idea for him him is more warrior oriented, cause come on since when have huge fiery death monsters ever been stealthy?
