Smurfing to wail on newer/lower level players definitely deserves to be frowned upon.

Smurfing to try and get better with a god/goddess or role you suck at isn't a very noble reason either, but not as bad.

Smurfing to play with a lower leveled friend and trying to teach them the game, while holding yourself back from wailing on the lower leveled players seems alright to me. As long as you're not going rape train mode, I don't see much of a problem with it.

My name is Gargamel and I hate smurfs. Obvious joke aside Smurfing is unfair to new players and also somewhat exploitative of the systems in Smite like the referral system. The excuse of not wanting to play with others without telling them off is kind of sad in a way. Just be honest and say ether I'm going solo today or i'm rolling with others today sorry. Helping friends is not much of a good excuse ether. Why easy the best way to get better is by playing against better players. A lesson I learned by playing Quake(the hard way I use to get completely dominated now I can hold my own partially). The last excuse I normally hear is I want to play a god i'm not good at and don't want the losses to be counted against me. In my opinion that is the worst excuse. Just takes the losses as training instead of being(Note if you do this I am insulting you not maliciously though also not judging your character I don't know who you are. So don't take this too personally)a bit of a coward.

I highly dislike smurfing... Mainly due to the fact I realized once I learned what a smurf was, a lot of my "Smite Gaming" pre level 30 had many smurfs pay us a visit :/.

I remember it was a MOTD, I was like level 20 or something idk and it was a 5v5 Thor fest con map. And 3/5 of the team on his end left the game. One of them ended up with 70 something kills, butchering us one by one until he could take on us all together :l. The smart me realized that our best bet was to wait it out and farm, since he cannot take on all our towers/phoenixes and minotaurs at once, we ended up closely winning that game but still...

Mainly reailzed this when I was "smurfing" with my friend. He just wanted to play with me and I let him play with my main acc by the time he was level 25.

So I think smurfing in general is pretty bad, but helping out a low level friend is fine, or just to have fun with him/her. I would love it if there was something preventing Smurfs.

Maybe to limit 1 acc for each IP, which wouldn't completely solve the problem, but help it. A team could try looking for rarely played accounts with insane stats (pentakills/quadras) over and over again. See if they could lock the account or ban it. Unfortunately, if there was a talented played that didn't get a lot of time to play or something, they have the chance of getting banned.

All in all, there can't be anything done about it, so why bother :3

I feel you man. When I was younger my parents wouldn't let me use my own money to buy games, and my mom doesn't want me using her credit card for stuff, which can be a pain cause my parents aren't together anymore. But yeah, I can see the point of doing that.

Someone admitted smurfing on official forums: now we can say it exists and is evil for the game.

Smurfing??
I have played smite for along time now but I always played on one account..... But lately I created a smurf account for 2 different reasons.
1. New players have been coming in the my clan and if I played with them i didnt want to bring them into level 30 games.
2. This seems really wrong but I really had the urge just to pub stump on newbies.

My first 5 games went as follows.....
1. chose baka and went 56-2 in an arena match
2. chose kali and went 29-0 and single handedly carried the team in a conquest.
3. chose athena (my best god) and went 18-1 on a joust.
4. chose ymir and jungled going 31-3 building him as a mage and freezing lots of enemys in a conquest..... felt really bad for their Ra who tended to die to me alot.
5. chose baka again and went 53-4 on an arena match.
All the matches were victories and I have to admit it was very satisfying..... But my question is that is smurfing a bannable offence or is it just highly frowned upon?
