I have been worried about Smite's future for a while.. and Decided to ask Hi-Rez themselves, I just got a email.. Which really gives me all my hope back of Smite becoming a over-succesful MOBA, Thanks Hi-Rez!

Here is the mail I have receieved:

Hi Christian,

I'm glad to hear you have been enjoying SMITE.

There are NO guarantees of success with gaming... It often takes not only a great game and also good timing and a bit of luck. :)

That said, I can assure you with the following:

- Smite already has a very healthy community (if we were on Steam we would already be a top 15 game in terms of player count)

- Smite continues to grow month over month. (This was not the case with our previous games Global Agenda or Tribes for example)

- Smite has weekly e-sports tournaments already - $1000 every Saturday for NA, $1000 every Sunday for EU. esports.smitegame.com

- Smite already has strong e-sports functionality even though it is not yet released (demo recording, spectator mode w/ delay, etc)

- We have two smite streaming channels that constantly expose new people to the game (twitch.tv/smitegame and twitch.tv/smitepro)

- Upcoming tournaments - we'll have one at RTX and one at GamesCom;

- After we release (no date yet), we'll have a 100k tournament

- SMITE will have a larger marketing budget than any Hi-Rez game to date

The other moba games have certainly claimed a place; but smite is different with the 3d graphics and action-emphasis. Most people will prefer one style or the other; if enough people prefer the 3d-smite style (and we think there is a large audience for that), then smite will continue to grow!

I'm so happy now :D

100k tournament was annouced a long time ago, at the same time of the 10K i believe XD

but this suprised me, Smite already has a very healthy community (if we were on Steam we would already be a top 15 game in terms of player count)

wow, this is good news indeed, but at the same time I have to ask, doesn't this mean its time for better servers hirez?
if you need anything just PM or ask me when I'm streaming here

Yeah it is good news! thats why I posted this here.. so people won't be apocalyptic about the game ^^. And yes, better servers would be nice. But maybe they should focus on balance more?

Unfortunatly I can't find the website I was looking for to show you a pie chart of smite's playerbase.. Though at the moment Smite is mostly played in EU and America ( In China its rising )
