You can try Getting a Ping booster VPN (virtual Private Network). All you have to do is select a server which is close and you will get max ping. I experimented this with Dota 2 and it worked but I haven't tried it on Smite yet. You can try IPvanish.

I have serious lag on my xbox one. I close all programs and start fresh and any arena battle that has a lot of action is just a lag fest.

I heard someone else about xbox one smite getting laggy however I can't provide help because I have no idea what you can edit in Xbox Smite (i'm finding it pretty weird as normally games are better optimized to a console)
