Honestly, the community of the game isn't active/big enough to support a true tier list. Not only is the meta constantly changing, the game itself is constantly changing. Characters can go from top tier to not viable and reverse either through nerfs/buffs, or just a change in how people play the game. A list like that would need to be tweaked weekly by people who understand everything about how every god is played.

A tier list is also hard since the gods aren't as strong throughout all levels. Mercury is feed bait for noobs who don't understand positioning, but he's banned in every tournament game. A tier list would have to be for top level play, but that doesn't really help someone new to the game. Ares is the extreme example of a character who stomps at lower levels, yet isn't really viable at higher ones. All gods are like that to some extent.

The last problem with a tier list is that there really isn't a clear line to split through most of the gods in the game. Odin is great with some team comps, a bad pick in others. A lot of other gods are the same.

Here's my best attempt at a current tier list:

Has a high chance of being banned in multiple tournament games: Mercury, Thor, Zeus, Agni, He Bo, Guan Yu, Athena, Tyr, Sobek, Chaac (once he's actually pickable.)

Viable in some situation/team comp: Everyone else

Not viable-you'll get flamed for picking them in ranked: Old Vulcan (need to wait and see how new one performs,) Poseidon, Anubis, Aphrodite, Nu Wa

I'm sure I'm missing someone from both tiers, but that's the start of a list. The 'viable' tier isn't going to be equal throughout, but it changes too much between team comp/matchups/meta/a lot of other stuff to really define it.

IDK, Poseidon is a pretty solid pick. He has a huge ult, a stupid whirlpool with GoI, and overall nice abilities. He's just not the safest for anyone who has serious stick potential, since he splits his escape among a knockback and speed boost, but that's similar to how Ao Kuang functions.

I think Poseidon is underrated right now, which is REALLY weird because it's what TheBest from Dignitas (?) is known for, and him and Agni were THEE two mids. He's not bad by ANY means. It's just people are currently playing with a more sustained-mid playstyle, it's slowly switching. We'll see if Agni gets the boot or not for a full sustain mid meta.

And TheBest is now known jokingly as someone who only plays He Bo.

He's not bad, no. Posiedon has tons of kill potential, he's not easy to kill for a mage, and he stomps at lower levels for a reason. If you start up a random conquest game and go Poseidon, you'll probably be fine. The problem (aside from being easily counterable,) is his role. He does nothing better than the other people you would pick to play as a mid mage. If the bans were He Bo, Agni, Zeus and Zhong Kui, and the other team picked Ao Kuang for mid and Chang'e for solo, you still have your pick from Eset or Hel who offer more than him. There are just too many good mages at the moment.

No game is going to have 6 mages off the board before you pick yours, so now you have to debate between Poseidon and someone broken like He Bo or Agni. Mages are the least balanced class by far at the moment unfortunately.

Nu Wa has a cripplingly bad early game, Aphrodite has meta problems, Anubis is way way too easy to kill. Poseidon just got power creeped to the basement. Maybe that doesn't put him in the same category as gods who need fixed (whereas Pos just needs the gods around him fixed,) but you'll get raged at for picking him in ranked nonetheless.
