Are we EVER going to get another Hindu god?

The Hindu pantheon is, without a doubt, the most controversial pantheon in Smite but it is also the most interesting in my opinion. Though I'm pretty sure Hi-Rez said that they will continue adding more we haven't had any in a while. If we do receive another Hindu deity I hope it's Ganesh. Considering they (barely) got away with revered gods like Kali and Rama I don't see what's stopping them from adding in Mr Elephant Head. Also, it's funny how Bakasura and ***bahkarna got in before Ganesh.

Because Hi-Rez was get flack from the Hindu community and other Social Justice Warrior's who are most likely not even Hindu screaming racist and other buzzwords because they are in love with their own outrage.

It's clear that Hi-Rez wants to continue this pantheon but are constantly put to a screeching halt when they announce a new Hindu god and the outrage starts up again. There is no fighting them without having their business and their game lose income and other assets because these SJW's will go out of their way to make sure their targets lives would be ruined. I've seen many peoples lives destroyed on the internet for a joke or a very small thing that would have been proceed as unoffensive being labeled as a "Micro-Aggression" so they would go to their social media and get a group of their followers to make one person lose their job, never get hired again, or even sent to jail for saying or doing something that other people didn't agree with.

I don't blame Hi-Rez for not releasing a Hindu god for a long while because it seems like every time they do they are walking on eggshells and don't want to lose not only a fan base but income.

To be fair though, Ravana was released pretty recently. The last Mayan god released was over a year ago ( Ah Puch). I don't doubt they'll continue releasing Hindu gods, but I would guess they're going to aim more for the niche lesser known ones to avoid controversy.

Yeah I don't think it has anything to do with the Hindu community. Sure, there was a public outcry about pre rework/remodel Kali, but nobody really cares anymore. Hirez has taken a firm stance that they're not going to step aside and stop creating Hindu gods for their game.

They've probably just been preoccupied with Japanese gods lately. Sure there's a bunch of gods they've missed like Ganesha, Hanumana, Krsna, Saraswati, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, etc etc. Plus they have a lot of options with demon like animals and stuff. Surprised they haven't done much with it but it's just not #1 prior right now. The wait for a Hindu god after rama came out was much longer than btwn ravana and now.

OT. I completely forgot about Ravana. I guess they had no issues with him as nobody worships him.

Hey I play smite and I am a observing Hindu, I think it would be a cool idea to add more Hindu gods the only problem would be the depiction of them. I started playing smite back when it was in beta so I was familiar with the original Kali and I was a little offended initially by how they sexualized her but i understood it was a video game and they do that to all women regardless. So i didn't really care all that much. People argue that she’s already depicted naked historically thus it should be fine to depict her like they did originally. The main difference in that is there is a difference between depicting somebody naked and depicting somebody sexually. Kali is supposed to be feared and beast like not look like a stripper. But going back to the main point, Lord Vishnu would be incredibly difficult to depict because to some in Hinduism has like the Christian god in that has in almost everything and almost everything is a part of him. Another sect of Hinduism believe that Lord Shiva is the main god and almost everything related to him. Whichever Hi Rez chose it would seem that they are validating one sect over another. Another potential landmine they would have to clear is choosing gods that most Hindus are not "worthy" of praying too. Gods like Goddess Durga and Lord Narasimha (my family god) are said to require there followers to follow extremely strict rules. Thus it would be like insulting those gods and goddesses whom most of us can’t even pray too but can "play" as within the game. Hell i can’t even wear anything with either one of depicted on it. There are gods they could depict without lash back they would just have to be Rakshasa's(demons/Auras) like Ravana, Kuma, and Baka, Or minor ones like Agni, Yama, and ****ala. Hindu gods are still worshiped and people still sacrifice a lot to worship them it important to remember that while it’s cool to play as these gods there are people getting killed for worshiping them. To those people and Hindus all around the world these gods are our history and culture. They should be respected and the depiction of them shouldn’t be taken lightly.
