Due to possible abuse we want to clarify the rules in regards to guide advertisement on this subforum a bit. Although you are allowed to link to your builds in this particular forum section, you are still not allowed to blatantly advertise. This section is here so that you can ask for help on your build - specific questions. Theory crafting help, bbcode help, guide ideas, etc.

If you link your guide without asking specific questions and the moderators decide that it appears to be an advertisement, your thread will be locked or deleted; repeated offenses may result in additional punishment.

This is a place for discussion and advice, NOT a place for advertising!

One question, is it allowed to mention your guides/builds/etc... for, say, getting across information more easily.

An example would be:

Say I made a guide "how to BB-code" (not that I will since there are a few of those already), and then somebody asks for help regarding BB-coding. Is it OK for me to say "hey, perhaps check out my guide here (link here)"? Or would that also be considered "advertising" and thus an offence to the rules here mentioned?

That would count as "Pasting your build link in relevant conversation" (as we call it in the General Rules and Guidelines) so that's fine :)

Blatant advertising would be to link to your guide without it being relevant to the discussion at hand, or to make a new thread in which you link it without asking for feedback on anything specific.
