Played this one with GGF (Thor), Taco (Erlang Shen), Taco's friend Jaberg (Thoth), and IceColdPappsi (Guan Yu).

Masteries aside, our general levels looked to be pretty even overall (according to Smite.Guru scores and W/L records).

The title phrase indicates something that wasn't voice captured at the loading phase...when I saw Papps and I would be laning against Jing Wei and Terra, was a bit scared, and was rocking in my seat repeating one word...(Hel, Hel, Hel). LOL. In the general meta, both are considered some of the strongest picks in their classes, and between the stuns from Terra and the early aggression from Jing, I had reason for concern.

That said, Papps was WAY more aggressive than I thought he'd be, and it actually helped a lot. Also, I deviated from my standard start...since he had heals, I started Soul Stone instead of Vampiric Shroud, and the extra early damage was definitely useful. I'll need to throw that option into the build.

For the first 7 minutes (!!!), I pretty much didn't even have to worry about my health or mana...Freya loves Guan + Meditation. This probably got me too comfortable, leading to my first death (ran out of mana, even though I had potions available). Granted, part of that was just poor decision-making by me (sequence starting around 9:15)...don't know why I ulted so early, don't know why I didn't retreat sooner, and my god that Jing got away by the skin of her teeth! (And no, I don't really understand that saying).

That ended up being my only death, and our team had a solid win.

My end score: 7/1/9. Highest player damage in the match.

Build: Shoes of the Magi, Hastened Fatalis (oops, should have switched those two), Demonic Grip, Pythagorem's Piece, and was working toward Rod of Tahuti, since I was doing plenty of damage without getting Spear of the Magus first...that would have been my last item.
