After playing Zhong for awhile and building different items every game I finally settled on a build I use every game. It turns a simple tank like mage into a force to be reckoned with.
So your first question is probably why attack speed? That makes no sense. But actually it's how Zhong is most effective in my opinion. It makes Zhongs 3rd ability very useful with the extra projectile, essentially you fire 2 basic attacks at the same time which effects items like telkhines, Demonic grip, and soul stone.
Early game is rough, but with the sustain you get from his 2nd ability makes up for it. I suggest don't engage in a team fight until you have at least 3 items built until then just poke with your 1st ability followed by the 2nd and focus on clearing wave.
By Mid-Late game you should start to be able to burst just about any god down by tagging your foe with your 1st ability(which also causes a slow to make basics easier to hit), activating your ult, basic a few times and before the card disappears hit your 2nd ability after it's all said and done your target should be dead or to low to fight back
Pros
Ult is great for team fights
Late game monster
Not as squishy as other mages
Great at taking out towers
Cons
You need to stack to the max prections from your passive
Winged Blade can counter your ability rotation
Difficult to fight gods that move quickly with abilities
Early game damage isn't great
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.
