Why to play Ymir as full Tank with no AP

First of all I have to say that this build is only to help your Team and not to let you be the God with the most kills or assists. You are the one who keeps a line in check and seperate enemy gods from their team. For Example your team got all the enemy towers in a lane down. But have to go back to buy or heal themselves what ever.... You can stay and keep the enemies on their tower and prevent them from going back until your team comes back.

Because of your great Hp/5 and your AP/AD armor you can easily take one or two ultis and still be alive.

So if you are intrested to take dmg and make the enemy go nuts because they can´t kill you keep reading.

Gameplay

On a Lane with a partner:
Make sure your Partner is right behind you so if you stun an enemie he can deal as fast as possible dmg without letting the enenmie a chance to react. Atfer the stun make sure you place your icewall in the escape route of the enemie to make sure your teammate can keep up the dmg.

A big mistake which i see in a lot of in early games it that someone rushes in without any minions from him around. Dont what ever you do underestimate the dmg from the enemie minions. If your teammate is squishy he will lose a lot of health just because he can´t escape because minions attack him or blocking his way.

In Teamfights:

Make sure you are in front of all your teammates. Push the enemies back and attack them with your abilitys as often as you can. Make sure they waste their mana and ultis on you. If you have a chance to seperate a single or two enemies from the team do so. Set ur icewall in their escape path freeze them your teammates will rush at them and kill them. Meanwhile make sure that the other enemies attack you ur back off. Dont be affraid to use the icewall to block the enemie minions from pushing your lane. Make sure they get as less room as possible to run around this will also help your teammates to land an successfull attack with an ability.

Quick Tip:

Watch your enemy what do they buy what attacks have they used which attack is on cooldown how is their mana etc. This will increase your chance to land a successfull combo alot.
Also you have to know when to use your stun. For example if hades pulls of his ulti your freeze will have no affect on him so it is wasted. If you are inside of his ulti pop your ulti as well you can´t escape anyway so why dont deal an huge amount of dmg and freeze him after that if you are still alive.

The Items

Many of you got a big question in mind. Why does he buy the boots so late?
Here i will explain why.

With Ymir the one who rushes in first and take the most abilitys of your enemies he needs to great armor and health. With the additional Mp/5 you dont need to worry to fail a stun just try again and again and again. Compared to other items with the same cost the boots are not as great on defense and HP/5,MP/5. On the other hand you don´t need the extra movmentspeed if you succsessfully stun and kill the enemies if you do it all right there will be no need to escape.
In early game it is vital to you that you have enough mana or a good mp/5 so you can keep stunning the enemies an distract the enemie from farming.
In the late game make sure you got enough HP/5 to stay on a line as long as possible to make sure you keep the enemie under pressure.

Great Partner Gods

Here I´m going to list of a few great Gods as your lanepartner and explain why and a bit how they should play.

The first and the best match i think is Anhur.

Because of his great Abililty to stun and to slow enemies while impact with great AD DMG he is an ideal Lanepartner to kill gods with great armor or health.
You should only be aware that this combo is very difficult to master to its perfect harmony.
You have to time your attacks perfect otherwise the enemie will escape without getting killed. (Yes he may have lost an big amount of health but with heal potions and lifesteal he will be quickly at full health again)

The second great match is Cupid

With his ability to quickly rush over the lanes and heal you or himself he can be very annoying for the enemie. He suits you best for enemies wich deal great dmg but are a bit squishy

I like the idea of the "No AP Ymir", but the item-build is lacking. I would opt for Reinforced Boots, Gauntlets of Thebes, Midgardian Mail or Stone of Gaia (Depending on who you're laning against.), Sovereignty (For teamfights), Midgardian Mail or Stone of Gaia (Depending on which one you bought previously), and Silverfox Girdle or Hide of Leviathan.

Besides items, it's a great guide. Cheers.
