Morgan mains The Morrigan

Welcome to my Morrigan build. i'm glad you chose this one to use. the first time I played Smite I was experiencing different gods and I stumbled across her - The Morrigan. my friends made jokes about how I should play her because my name was Morgan. Even though she was classified as one of the hardest gods in the game. we clicked instantly. and now Im out here kicking *** and taking names (and your ultimate ;) )

This build works for any role and any game type

Summary

If you want low cool down and high damage play as The Morrigan. this is the build you want. Hell if you want high damage early game rush Rod. be that kinda player. you do you.

Also if you have noticed - i put all assassins as "threats" because they will be your biggest threat. I did put a few mages in there. if you are going against them in mid, you will want to be careful AND BE ON LEVEL. if you are under level and going against those mages, good luck.

Skills

some skills needed for The Morrigan
- Team compositions. (who to steal - when to steal) you'll also need to know what your team needs in a fight, burst, high damage, buffs etc. dont be afraid to use your ult as a way out. with low cool downs you will have it back up in a minute. (her int/ escape is only good enough if you can juke really well.)
- Who is building what. (for example. say a Thor has only two items up and they aren't very good items vs a Thanatos with 4 items up and are very good items. Their items do effect you. so keep in mind who you ult as)
- a decent knowledge of most gods in the game. i started off new and played the Morrigan. i would call it a big mistake but it worked out. because i had friends explain gods

Pros / Cons

Pros
- High damage output with Rod
- Low cool down.
- This build can be used anywhere. from arena to conquest
- This build can be built in any order ( if you want more damage early game - after blessing and boots, start Rod)

Cons
- not too good early game. but best around mid and late game.
- most items are a must need for this build
- only two replaceable items ( that is if of coarse you don't mind sacrificing cool downs)

You don’t need mana chalice if you have mages Blessing and you’re building into Book of Thoth especially (which should be Doom Orb).

i like having a mana chalice on the side, unless its like joust because of blue buff. its also nice to have in mid in my opinion too much mana is better than no mana!

To be fair, does Morrigan's build really matter. Considering that when she ults. Her build doesn't matter at all?

Kriega1 (143) | May 7, 2020 7:43pm
Morrigan isn’t just her ult

you got me there

I'd only get Meditation Cloak in Assault and Phantom Veil probably isn't that useful since one can destroy the walls of Odin's Ring of Spears.

[Edit]: I did see your note about how your relic choices are situational, but examples of when they should be picked up would be good. Personally I think only Purification Beads and Aegis Amulet are the only two relics you should really be considering in Conquest, Joust, or Clash; The Morrigan isn't a great support, so the others aren't really all that useful except in niche cases like Assault.

Phantom is still useful against Odin
1
CherrieHere | May 7, 2020 6:42pm
it also depends on who you are going up against in said matchs

boogiebass (46) | May 7, 2020 6:16pm
Blink rune too. I heard she jged at one point?

boogiebass (46) | May 7, 2020 6:13pm
Even in Assault, med is questionable since there are jungle buffs that heal the team

Devampi (105) | May 8, 2020 12:59am
if you don't have med your early game is going to be really messy, especially if the first engagement ends in a stalemate with no deaths. if your team does not have 2-3 meds your opponent can heal and mana to full and then has pressure on 3 orbs.

also an orb will only give you 15% and 10% over time. Which early game is not enough to keep up high aggression early game. Which is a point that can decide games depending on the random

I wouldn't rely on those health orbs because it's not always convenient to get them or the enemy team may have already done so. Med is pretty much a core item in Assault unless you have a strong healer like Hel or Ra.

Where’s Polynomicon? A core item on Morri?
1
CherrieHere | May 7, 2020 5:30pm
and I also just saw that Book of the dead is in my situational items section, that was supposed to be poly lol

boogiebass (46) | May 7, 2020 5:59pm
But he's saying it should be core, not situational.

I use Book of Thoth just for the +15 MP5. sometimes if we need more umph i will replace soul reaver with polynomicon, but i can typically get the job done without it - it's personal preference really

You don’t need book of Thoth on Morri, just build Doom Orb
