I use Shoes of Focus for the cool down reduction on the abilities. I rely heavily on my abilities so the faster I get them back the faster I can assist and guard my team properly.
It seems like due to the healer/life steal meta that seems to be happening, Pestilence is almost always a necessity to have. Of course, I wouldn't buy it if someone didn't have life-steal in their kit or if they don't have a healer. But since Artio seems to be the insta-lock of the game currently, its really good to have.
Same with Pestilence, Magi's Blessing is just in case of Crowd Control gods. Its very convenient to have, especially with Ganesha because it saves me a Relic spot for something more useful than to just target one person with Beads. It seems i'm also building this one a lot more often than most which is why it made it on my guide.
Gem of Isolation works to keep enemies in your ultimate and also slows them when you grapple to try to make it so they can't get away. Its self explanatory but this, to me, is a needed item to have even if it is your only damaging item you decided to buy. I always have this at least as my last item built.
If anything, this is also something else I almost always build. The extra damage from Mystical Mail is a good help when you're always up close and personal with every god you fight.
I recently started using void stone but I usually don't put it on unless the enemy team is mostly Magical or I'm having an issue with someone who is physical. Ganesha helps with stripping those from their magical protections.
Alright, Recently I've been playing as Ganesha more and I love him a lot, I've gotten plenty of compliments and have even gotten him up to almost 4k health. I hope you find this guide very useful if you'd like to start your assist guardian life style.
Remember, killing is not everything in an objective based game and playing as Ganesha, you are meant to protect and help out. Don't just go in balls deep expecting to get kills (because, with his passive you almost can not get a kill with him) but he does some massive damage.
When I play as Ganesha I do what my role is meant to do, and that is to Assist, Defend/Guard. If you see someone in your lane being attacked, run in with yourCharge for the grapple stun, hit once and then silence to try to get them to not run away and give your teammate enough time to either flee or do the finishing touches.
Everything is about timing and precision! If you know you can hit someone, lead with your charge. Charge+basic attack+Silence seems to be the best combo in using Ganesha, but never go in alone! He does a lot of damage but sometimes that isn't enough.
Use the pillars to either slow enemies, drive them back, or guarantee the last hit if they're far away. It reduces their magical protections and does 255dph at max level plus 40% of your magical power. I've almost completely obliterated people with just my ult alone. Combined with Gem of Isolation, it keeps them in there a lot longer and gives your teammates either a chance to run away, or an opportunity to attack; and even if the enemy tries to leave the Pillar, they take damage, are slowed, and still get the protection Debuff for 3s.
Turn of Fate is good when you have the line of minions coming up. It grants you and your teammates around you a 2% damage buff to each minion (up to five) or people you hit. Its really good to use that then rush in with your Remove Obstacles ability. It also does a mean amount of damage
