[S4] Guan Yu Solo Lane Guide for Casual/Ranked

Guan Yu whole kit is super strong and full of Utility. he can heal, he can dash, he can steal away protection, and having one of highest Physical Damage Ability in the game. Good in solo lane, even support role

I split Warrior into three different type by giving ****y name. e.g. bruiser, fighter, flexible

Bruiser
a tank that very good at auto attack base, can always keep fighting the enemy backline in the teamfight, Laning super strong, very good early game. (e.g. Bellona, Osiris, Erlang Shen)

Fighter
a tank that very good at ability base, can peel your backline and control the teamfight, bad laning phase, weak in early game, strong mid game, great sustain. (e.g. Guan Yu, Tyr, Hercules)

Flexible
a tank that very good in early, mid, late game, good at both ability base and auto attack base, decent laning phase, can do both peeling and fighting. (e.g. Vamana, Amaterase, Nike)

The Build that I recommend, is full of utility and defense, the cooldown and the movement spped is very useful for Guan Yu. Make Guan Yu very hard to lock down, continue healing up the team, and fighting the backline. Guan Yu is not a carry Warrior, but a utility support in a team. Thats why keep building defense and utility item instead of damage and crit is the smart choice

Passive Painless, taking damage to make your ability stronger, the heal, the dash damage and slow, the stealing protection, the ult damage and CC as well.

Conviction, heal up yourself and the teammate around you

Warrior's Will, dash in a short distance, reducing 2s cooldown while hit a enemy god

Taolu Assault, damage the enemy a front of you, stealing away protection

Cavalry Charge, gain a strong movement speed buff, also can do damage and slow to enemy around you, stunning the enemy at the end

I"ll be honest, Guan Yu doesn't have any combos at all, the only thing you can do better in the combat, is the auto attack cancel, use auto attack before using any ability, will do a bit more damage than usual. Also, when you low on health in the combat, you always want buy more time before you die, instead of just auto attacking and juking around, you can use your 3 to steal away protection to make yourself more tanky and gain more kill potential on the enemy. Guan Yu is not really good at auto attacking, compare to some of the auto attack base warrior, also Guan Yu's whole kind is base on ability and utility, instead of auto attack base

Guan Yu have 2 jobs in a teammate, first is peel your backline, second is damage the enemy backline or frontline. Stealing away enemy's protect is very useful in teamfight, can make a tank easier to kill and making yourself more tanky.
