Welcome to my first build/guide! Just before you start reading the rest of this build you should know that this is not a normal poseidon mage build. You arent relying on your ability's to kill someone but you use your normal attacks instead. (trident counts as normal attack) I hope you enjoy playing with this build and have as much fun as i have with it.
As usual you start with boots. I like the penetration ones more scince you wont have to use your ability's so much. After you finish the boots you get a hastened fatalis right away scince it is the most important part of this build. After that you can choose for yourself what you want to get. I like going with polynomicon for the extra damage output when using your 'trident' skill. Then i usally go for demonic grip for the extra attack speed and the dmg is also welcome. Then just some penetration for the defence and to finish this build we go rod for the amazing extra magical power wich will give an immense boost to your damage output.
1. Tidal Surge is your wave clear and deals a nice amount of damage. Max this second.
2. Trident is your most important skill for this build. Max this first for the amazing and main damage output.
3. Whirpool is a very usefull skill for disrupting teamfights or stopping people from following you or your teammates. Put one point in this early game.
4 Release the Kraken is your ult and an amazing teamfight skill. Use this for securing kills or use it in teamfights.
note* you can put some more points early game in your Tidal Surge to help you with pushing the lane.
Pros:
It is possible to play poseidon in the jungle but then you have to make some changes to your skill leveling. instead of spending points on Tidal Surge you put more in Whirpool scince its better for clearing camps. His ganks might be a problem to be succesfull but with the Hastened Fatalis you should be able to follow the target with ease.
