Introduction
I am an avid player of Smite, and Anubis was the first mage I really got good at. My statistics with him are: 283 Kills, 167 Deaths, and 202 Assists. This has been my build since I have begun playing as him, and I have not changed it since. I hope you enjoy it!
Pros
---> HIGH Magical Power & Magical Pen
---> Slight, but effective cooldown reduction
---> Impressive single target damage
Cons
---> Low sustain at the start
---> Anubis, by default, is a late-game God
---> Low health and protection
Reasoning Behind the Items
Shoes of the Magi
The reason I enjoy these shoes, is because of the incredible amount of Mana and MP given, in comparison to Shoes of Focus. Anubis is a high DPS character, and the more power you can get, the better with this build.
Book of Thoth
The Book of Thoth is my favorite mage-based stack builder, and for good reason. It gives you a beefy amount of MP, and slightly more mana. And at face value, it doesn't look like much, however, when you get it to 75/75 stacks, you will have a seemingly infinite supply with mana, and a great deal of magical-pen (3% of your mana turns into magical-pen). At level 10, at full stacks, I am up to 2,100 mana at around 10 minutes in each game. This supply of mana is amazing, along with the pen it brings with it.
Bancroft's Talon
There are two reasons for this one, the magic steal, and the power. The MP is self-explanatory, but the reason for the steal, is because Anubis' passive heightens any steal-items, and since this one correlates with magic, your sustain becomes incredible, especially late game.
Spear of the Magus
This is like the FMJ of magical auto-attacks. This gives you a slight amount of MP, but I enjoy it because of the penetration, along with its passive of reducing your enemies' protection by 10%. This only heightens your MP, thus, dealing more damage.
Chronos' Pendant
I enjoy this one, because I wanted something that gave magical power, and cooldown reduction, and with it I look no further. It still gives you a good amount of MP and MP5, but I use it mostly because of that cooldown reduction. I use Anubis effectively for wave clearing, and God-killing purposes, and being able to use your abilities more often only helps. Plus, you don't have to worry about running out of mana, because at this point it is late-game, and you should have 75/75 on Book of Thoth, and the regeneration of mana from Bancroft's Talon, your sustain here can support the more frequent use of abilities most certainly.
Rod of Tahuti
Not only does it give a whopping 125 MP, but it also makes your MP 25% higher. This is the last item, because enemies by this time will have more health, possibly more protection, and to make up for it, give 'em even more MP. This plus your previous items (Especially Spear of the Magus because of its penetrating abilities) will make your late/end-game a pretty darn solid one. This nails the head on the coffin of getting as much MP as possible, with the pen and sustain to support it.
Greater Sprint
I guess my only complaint about Anubis is his poor mobility, and half of his kit making him rooted. So for me to either chase enemy Gods, or escape from them, I need a Mercury-like speed boost. This active gets the job done, and plenty of times I Mummified an enemy on the run, and then 3-4 combo them.
Hands of the Gods
As stated before, I use Anubis to wave clear, and I need stacks built. This active will kill those minions early on, giving you Book of Thoth stacks, along with clearing your lane. Also, who wants to grind the Fire Giant/Gold Fury past 25% health? I don't!
Summary
This is my never-changing Anubis build, and for good reason. I always average around ~950 Magical Power in the late-game, and I can 1-on-1 pretty beefy Gods such as Bellona and Ares because of my Pen and absurd amount of MP, with the mana to sustain it. You will have no worries about running out of mana, even if you cast as often as Chronos' Pendant will allow. You do have to be very cautious of avoiding the gank, and being overwhelmed by too many Gods at once with this build. That is a common theme for most mages, especially with Anubis, and especially with this build. I hope you enjoyed this build, as it is my first one created. Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

The rest of your build I agree with, although I would change the build order.
Bancroft, then boots, then Spear, then Tahuti. That's the core items.... you can be flexible after that depending on who you're playing. I prefer a defense item (like I said above) and maybe Gem of Iso or even Chronos if you're worried about cooldown, although I'm usually not. If you land your abilities, then you don't need to have cooldown. Anubis is designed to be an early game laning God.. he is a terrible team fighter. He's best used as a back line defense, letting the team initiate, and Anubis keeping anyone from diving or ganking behind. He should never be played as a front line God.
If your curious about my credentials to say this..... 6200+ kills, 4500+ assists, and 400+ wins.
