This build will show you how to play Odin with what he's in my opinion best as, a bruiser. A bruiser is basically a high dps/tank, so that they can take much more damage than most dps while dealing out more damage than most tanks. When playing this guide, keep in mind that what may work for me and some others, may not work for you. Try to follow the playstyle in my game guide video listed below, and you should be able to do well, and even better once you adapt to Odin's style yourself.

This guide is a compilation of Conquest, Joust, and Practice to show off all of Odin's features and applying them in-game. If you want a live commentary, follow my channel because I will likely have an Odin Live Com in a few days.

While the items I show in the builds are mostly damage, this is because most tank items rely on the buyer's opinion of the match itself. For example, if you're facing a large amount of mages, definitely get some magical protection such as shown in the Fifth build with the extra tank items, to keep yourself safe while wailing on your foes. Remember this, Odin's third ability naturally increases his physical protection, and physical protection naturally increases the most anyways. Generally getting many physical protection items will not be worth it, but voidblade and breastplate of valor generally help as long as there is even 2 physicals on their team, if at least one of those two is a dps god.
I'm trying to lay it out for you as best as I can, but with Bruiser builds it is very important to just apply the matchup for the item build.
Odin's skills define him greatly, and you must understand that he may take getting used to, especially without watching guides such as mine that I listed in the introduction. He is very short-ranged, but with movement speed and creeping curse, along with his ultimate to trap some people, you can catch your enemies and make them hate you (which is always fun). His natural stat boosts from him being defined as a tank, will help you take much more damage than you normally can afford to with other dps gods. Therefore, strike at gods often, but only if you're making sure to die rarely if ever. If you feel like you can play a good match while dying 0-3 times about, I recommend buying Heartseeker early. Use your 3 (third ability) often when attacking enemies or while trying to quickly wipe a minion wave. It has a short cooldown, and very high damage, dont forget how strong this ability is. Use his jump as an initiator on far away enemies, and his 3 to those who are close. If someone is about to get away, mainly those without a jump or a jump that they very recently used, pop that ultimate and keep them attempting to run through a wall, don't worry, they won't get through.
Following this guide, or a similar custom version you've created of it, dive often. Not tower dives mind you, those are generally a bad idea unless you're high enough level to survive up to 5 shots. Never stay in for longer than 5 tower shots, even at high levels. Keep yourself alive, and your team careful. But back to what I said, dive often. When that enemy minion wave gets low or far enough away to not focus on you well, hurt those gods. Use your health and health regen to your advantage by diving with your 1, then using your 3, and backing away to your own minion wave. Keeping them under half-health will really keep the enemy team either in constant danger, or in an inefficient retreat, doing little to push their minion wave, allowing you to push and win.
Try to get jungle camps occasionally, such as blue buff if you're in need of mana, and white buff to smash that 3 often. Once you have deathbringer or if you've already gotten a fairly developed heartseeker buff, try to get red if you can as well.
When playing ranked, as always be more careful. Besides that, his strategies really still apply. Bad opponents are not what define Odin, unlike some other gods can. Odin is a god that is good no matter what, if the player knows how to play him well. Try to push those gods back, but remember that it's ranked and they may be pulling you into something. If you have a good teammate though, who matches well with Odin's bruiser build, you can still dive often. In ranked, it is much more important (as it always is) to keep on the same page with your teammate.
Pros
-Very tanky by default
-High damage 3
-1 is an initiator and escape
-His 2 is great for wiping gods in your ultimate, while slowed from curse/your 3, and to buff your team in a teamfight.
-Ultimate is good all game assuming that you use it when the enemies are weak enough or you have your team behind you.
-Easy to jungle all game, don't need lifesteal with your huge hp5.
Cons
-Can be difficult to get used too
-Very little range, learn to aim and use your 1 carefully
-He may get nerfed once Hirez sees this guide and notices how damn good and easy this build is
Very early game, I prefer to stay away from going for buffs. Once around level 7 however, I'll go back for blue buff (I prefer left lane for this reason), or maybe go up to get white buff but it's not too important generally unless you are getting into constant god battles, or need that extra 3 to wipe the god you're chasing. Get red buff around level 10 assuming that your lane will be safe, and start ganking once you're fed. He's not a great ganker without his ult, but he can still do a lot if they're away from their tower. His slow is very helpful for ganks. I generally only get buffs a few times a game, unless I'm near red often, or need blue often.
Make sure to be on page with your teammate, and DEFINITELY on page with your team during team fights. You want your lane partner to strike behind you when you engage those enemy gods. You also want to keep your team in your ultimate when you wail on a few guys still waiting for their backup. Keep them with you, yourself up at the front as a tanky character. Don't be too afraid to leap into a few guys, but make sure your team will be behind you.
Good luck my viewers.
