This is my first Smite build, and one that I use very often. Odin can be a powerful tank and utility character, and I feel this build gives him enough defensive abilities to last very long in fights, while still being able to put out a lot of damage.
Pros
- Great defense
- Lifesteal allows you to last a long time in fights and solo the gold fury and fire giant when needed.
- Near the end game after the minotaur has been beat on, Odin can jump in and using his ring finish the minotaur himself
Cons
- Very slow start
- Low damage early game
- Relies a lot on mana potions to chain his abilities together for maximum damage.
You will want to try maxing out Gungir's Might and Lunge as early as possible. You can throw in Odin's Shout at anytime if you're consistently pushing towers. By the Ring Of Spears any opportunity you can.
When attacking in your lane, for duos it's best to focus on a character that does not have a leap type of ability. Almost every caster is a good target. Lunge at them and then set your Ring, follow with a Gungir's Might to do damage and slow them down. Unless you catch the enemy with low health or in a team fight where you have the advantage you most likely won't kill them. Character's with leap abilites will leap out of the ring, so try to get them to leap at you first by baiting, then follow with the ring.
Defensively if you're getting ganked or outnumbered you can trap enemies in your ring, and then Lunge out of it to save yourself.
As mentioned before most of the casters (some physical) do not have the leap tyoe of ability, it is usually safe to gank the middle lane when possible. Use the same ability combination as above and you can do great damage to a Ra or AO in the middle, with a probable kill with a teammate.
The ability combination though is hard on mana so you will always want to pick up mana potions or even meditation as you see fit.
This item build is for maximizing defense while maintaining a strong physical presence. Ankh of the Golem allows your health to benefit your physical power. With the lifesteal, you can last much longer in fights, and can even use minions to heal yourself if you're running low.
After maxing out Mystical Mark it is fairly safe to jungle, or at least pick up the mana or health regen for your lane when it's available.
I've enjoyed using this build. By the late game it becomes very hard to kill this Odin. And if you play it smart, if the enemy's minotaur is roughly around 1/3 health left you should be able to run in and finish it off whenever you can. If you're teaming with a thor that would be even better as he could Ult into the fight and definitely help tank out the minotaur.
Player kills come as a secondary, sometimes they happen sometimes they don't. But you can do enough damage to push them back. Especially by late game when you become so hard to if an enemy is tower hugging with low health you will have no problem jumping in to finish them and the tower damage won't effect you that much.
