Introduction

Hi guys, and welcome to a quick guide to destruction for Odin! My name is NordViking, and this is my first Smitefire guide. I've been playing Odin for a long time now, and he is without doubt my favorite god, and is also the one i play the best. I hope this guide will help you finish off every opponent with the most awesome god in Smite: Odin the Allfather!

If you think that something in this guide should be improved then please leave a comment and explain the improvements you want! And if you think this guide deserves to be up-voted, then please vote!

(Important: This guide is not finished and is still missing some chapters, but the things that is written is 100% working, and will not be changed)

Odin as a Damage Dealer

In many situations, Odin works better as DPS, than the actual tank he is. As DPS Odin has alot of health from the original tank stats, but also the damage of a DPS god, which makes him very powerful in early, and late game. If you play Odin correctly as DPS, then you'll probably get surprised of how powerful and almost invinceble the Allfather is.

How to play Odin as a DPS

Odin is a very strong god in the first couple of levels (0 - 7) but in the time between level 7 and 15, he isn't very powerful. Fortunately for you, Odin gets very strong in the late game.

So i've made a simple guide of how to play Odin in these different periods. Of course this is an optional way to play him, but these methods works great.

Early game:

In the first 10 - 15 minutes of a match, Odin can be played very aggresive and get a positive start. Start out by upgrading the ability Lunge, which gives you the opportunity to jump the enemy, and give them alot of damage. After you've jumped them, then you'll have to choose whether to hit them with your auto-attack a couple times, or just run away. Both strategies can be very useful, depending on how powerful the opposition is. If you continue this way and plan when to attack with your lane-buddy, then you'll get some kills before the period of Odin's weakness. Also try using the Lunge, then Gungnir's Might, and then alot of auto-attacks. This leaves the enemy slowed down, and with low health in just a second.

The weak period:

(WILL BE ADDED SOON)

Late game:

(WILL BE ADDED SOON)

Some people say that Odin is not a good farmer (creep killer)... These people have obviously no idea of what they are doing, so i am here to help. DONT use your spells on creeps! Already in level 7 Odin gives alot of damage with his auto-attacks, which is enough to kill creeps.

(CHAPTER NOT FINISHED)

Item Builds

The item build i've put in this guide is almost good no matter what enemies you are facing as Odin. But the last five items you should buy as Odin depends totally on which gods you're fighting against.

If you are fighting against a weak HP team existing of e.g. Sun Wukong, Agni, Anubis, Freya, Ymir. Then you should buy the items from the first build iv'e made.

if you are figting against a team with strong defenses and high numbers of HP, then i recommend you to buy the second build i have made.

Shop Abilities

Odin does not necessarily need to buy abilities, but if you see it as a need, then i would recommend Creeping Curse, and Sprint. These abilities makes it impossible to escape from Odin.

If you are playing against a strong team, then you should consider buying Sprint and Meditation. This gives you the option to stay or flee no matter what.

I see you already changed alot XD +1 for that ^^

nice guide overal then
although i do disagree with the fatalis but thats just my opinion XD

Well, Fatalis gives you mobility and attack speed which is a good thing for Odin as DPS. But sure, you could choose something like Brawlers Beat Stick or Frostbound hammer, that would work aswell. And thanks for all the feedback, i hunger for more already :)

About the weird item thing: I got kinda confused when i picked the items in this Guide editor, i will correct that soon. (Includes both item problems)

And about the weak team thing: What i ment was a weak HP team. Didn't mean low damage, but i will correct that soon aswell.

Thanks for your comment, it's hard sometimes to notice all the problems and weird things.

Quoted:

I Like your concept Sustainability with the Lifesteal and sacrificing attack speed for heavier hitting attacks.
The only problem i have here is possible Durability.

I see why you have the problem of durabillity with this build. But the lifesteal should be able to help you with that. Fx. when im low on health with Odin, and im using this build, then i simply hit the enemy until my life is high enough to let me escape, or until the enemy god dies. Sometimes you can even end up lifestealing more than two gods can damage you, which is why i love this build. But it takes alot of practice for this build to work well, and it is much harder than most people think. I hope this helps you.
