Xing Tian has had a rough time since release in smite. Constant tweaks and nerfs since his release have definitely watered down the once almighty Season 2 guardian, from being one of the absolute best guardians... to "meh he's okay." Xing Tian support is sort of a waste now because of other current top guadians such as Athena, Fafnir, Bacchus, and even Khepri simply outclass him as a support god.
But I don't feel as if he is as a useless of a pick as most people say he is. He is still a pretty viable magical solo laner, and can still bring a lot to teamfights due to his heavy, high burst crowd control in his ult and his 2. He also manages to have a decent amount of poke damage with his 1.

Chaac, Tyr, and Other High Sustain Warriors Will Almost Always Beat You in Lane.

In ranked, your main job is to spam out as much heavy crowd control as you can, and try to get as many people with your ult. Recommend getting blink for this. Catching someone in your ult is pretty scary for someone, so if they have beads they will almost always use it. Do this so your team's Support (Example,Ymir or Ares) can use his crowd control and set up kills for your ADCS/Mages/Assassins. If they didn't pick up beads, they should have. You are Xing Tian. You can Grab 5 people and launch them into immediate demise during a teamfight. This is why Cooldown reduction is so important on Xing.
