Introduction

This is my first guide, and I am awful at code, so please excuse any errors. This guide is for a very aggressive Medusa, one who will often run through an enemy team. I have used this build extensively, often with great success in 3v3 Joust.

Abilites

Sidewinder - This is Medusa's passive. It grants you no movement penalty when side strafing and half the movement penalty when moving backwards.

Viper Shot- This is Medusa's 1. It increases your attack speed and enables you to fire 3 projectiles that apply damage over time. When paired with the new and improved Bluestone Pendant, it will apply a surprising amount of damage over time. I often max this ability second because it allows for a huge damage boost, but is not efficient for clearing the wave or applying poke. Use this ability when trying to burst someone down.

Acid Spray- This is Medusa's 2. This ability is your primary wave clear. It will hit the first enemy and spray in a cone behind them. It also will explode on statues you create with your ult. With Bluestone Pendant you will clear waves easily and can apply poke onto enemies through their minions. Max this ability first as it applies strong poke and good wave clear.

Lacerate - This is Medusa's 3. This is a dash that will also stop an enemy, deal damage, and reduce their healing by up to 50%. I max this ability last. This ability is great for chasing, but if you are trying to get away, someone can step in front of you and stop your dash.

Petrify - This is your ult, and it is amazing for enemies who aren't prepared. This does huge amounts of damage to any enemy looking at you, turning them into stone for 2s. Enemies that look away take half damage and are slowed for 3s. Using this ability from behind a larger ally or while turning around the wall are great ways to catch your enemies by surprise.

Items

Bluestone Pendant - With the new changes to this item, it is invaluable to your poke game as it gives you free damage with each of your abilities that hits. Pick this item up first and sell it as you finish your build. Along with this item you should pick up spiked gauntlet to start your lifesteal and increase your early sustain. Pick up a mana potion to ensure that you can stay in relevant while in lane.

Soul Eater - I have been using this item much more than Devo Gauntlets due to the attack speed and health boost that this item gives. It often lets me out box other hunters who chose to go Gauntlets instead. It also provides physical protection and physical lifesteal to nearby allies.

Ninja Tabi - This gives movement speed, yet more attack speed, and a little more power. Some people like Hastened Fatalis because of how well it pairs with your Passive, but I only would take it if I used Devo Gauntlets to make up for Fatalis giving now power.

Executioner - This item boosts attack speed and power, and it's passive reduces protections and increases your penetration, allowing you to deal increased damage. This item also lets you push down their tankier characters.
Asi/Ichiaval - These items both give attack speed and 10 penetration, however Asi gives lifesteal and lower attack speed. Ichiaval gives higher attack speed and increases your physical power while simultaneously lowering the enemy's physical power, however it lacks lifesteal.

Deathbringer - Gives you a huge boost in damage by giving you power, crit chance, and increasing critical hit damage by 50%.

Rage - Finishes off your crit build by giving you increased crit chance and a passive that increases your crit chance each time you don't crit.

Actives - Good actives for Medusa are Purification Beads, Sprint, Meditation, and Aegis Pendant/Greater Aegis. I prefer to pick up level 1 Meditation early game because Medusa is very mana hungry early game.

Play

Medusa is a very strong hunter that scales very well throughout the game. Early game she can be a bit weak, but the Bluestone helps to make up for some of her weakness and she can often stay in lane for an extended period of time. I often single out the member of the enemy team who seems to be the strongest and try to burst them down so that my team can 3v2 the enemy team, either forcing them under tower or killing them. Try not to get too greedy early game.

Early Game - Kill the minion wave quickly, using Acid Spray to poke your enemies behind the minions. When the wave is gone, try to get some damage in while they hit your minions, don't get too greedy, your lifesteal isn't very good yet.

Mid Game - At this point you should be able to do a good bit of damage to most enemies and clear the wave very efficiently. Don't forget to get your attack speed buff and their attack speed buff any time you think you can get away with it. If you managed to get early kills you should be able to stay ahead and easily push minions and take the enemy tower.

Late Game - Now you should be able to very quickly kill almost any enemy and you will easily push waves. If you got early kills and managed to stay alive, you should be snowballing out of control and the enemy's best chance is to try to 3v1 you. At this stage you should focus on getting the enemy hunter out first, followed by the rest of their team. Your ultimate is great for the beginning of the 3v1, but you should try to never initiate into their team by yourself unless they are so far behind that they don't stand a chance.

Conclusion

I know it isn't very pretty, but hopefully this guide will be helpful in learning how to dominate with Medusa. I tried to be thorough, but if you see any issues or have some suggestions, please leave me a comment. Thanks.
