Introduction

Ok so let me start this off by saying this build is more of a late game build, but you'll be unstoppable with your damage. Please share your thoughts/opinions on the build.

Items

1. Warlock's Sash - In Joust, I would rush this item to begin building your stacks. This item gives you health, mana, and magical power. This item fuels your passive, as well as making you safer seeing as Kukulkan has no escape abilities.

2. Book of Thoth - This item is a must-have on Kukulkan. This item gives tons of mana, which fuels his passive, PLUS this item has the same passive built in - mana is converted to Magical Power. All of this extra mana will give you an insane boost in Magical Power.

3. Shoes of the Magi - Simply, I prefer these boots on most mages. You can take Shoes of Focus instead, as the Mana helps fuel both passives, but I prefer to have some penetration early on. Your call.

4. Chronos' Pendant - Kukulkan relies on his abilites to deal massive damage, and this item will let you spam your Zephyr and Whirlwind more often. This also lets you spam Slipstream, which you need ready as often as possible to escape. NOTE: This item can be switched with Polynomicon if you prefer.

5. Spear of the Magus - Ahh, such an underrated item. Most people take Obsidian Shard, but Spear of the Magus works much better unless you're against a tanky team. When hit with your Whirlwind, each tick will peel protections, for a maximum of 30. This is HUGE against Mages, Hunters, and Assassins, as they don't have a lot of base protections. With the recent magical power buff, this item has only gotten more effective on Kukulkan.

6. Rod of Tahuti - I doubt I need to explain this one. It boosts your damage tremendously, but we all know this.

Hi, concerned diamond Kuku here. I have some concerns about your build. First, I feel that the order should be Thoth before Warlocks so you can get both passives online more quickly. Next, we both know that joust is an incredibly fast mode, right? Odds are, that after you've used up nearly 5000 gold on stacking items, that the opposing team's damage character (ADC, Assassin, Mage, etc) has already built a fair amount of CC and damage, meaning that at the slow pace that Kukulkan has when his 2 is on cooldown, he will get targeted and caught out of position a lot due to lack of mobility. I put to you that Boots should either be first or second item. I don't mind your build so much, but I feel that Spear is also a situational item as most joust teams now usually end up with a warrior or pretty useless guardian as tank, so I honestly would be more concerned about avoiding CC there. Chronos pendant... This would be good on gods with unusually long cooldowns such as Anubis with his early game mummify, but the most you would be gaining here is 2 seconds at max levels so I think that could be replaced with a better item. I would suggest moving boots to first or second item next Thoth, then having Warlocks as a third item, Gem of Isolation as a fourth (to combo ult with zephyr or whirlwind, plus mana for passive), then Polynomicon, and either Soul Reaver or Spear of Desolation on the end as a situational item. We must remember here that we aren't building for Conquest, which is a much slower and drawn out game mode where most of these items would be more useful, in Joust you need to be able to build so that you can take out the enemy ADC or Mage in 2-3 abilities. Spear of the Magus and Chronos Pendant are good, just not for the burst we need in this particular mode.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I would have listed some of your suggestions (such as Gem of Isolation, i've found it to be successful on him) as other options as i've seen in other build guides, i've just not taken the time to figure out how. Still learning the site. You make good points, and I kind of agree with the Chronos' Pendant thing. My reasoning for this late game build is that lately i've found many of my Jousts being unusually long (25-40 minutes) so I build more towards that. I should've also mentioned other penetration items under Magus in case of a tank, but against 3 squishies (Hunter, Mage, Assassin) I find Magus works extremely well. I have recently found myself replacing Chronos' Pendant with Poly, as mentioned in the items chapter. Again, thanks for the feedback.
