Introduction

This is Anubis. He's a beast. I personally love him and his play style, as he is capable of nuking down someone from 100 to zip in about 2-4 seconds. I've played many games as him and I've found this strategy to be the most effective way of getting fed, getting kills, and going to Florida State University.

Pros:
- Fun to play
- Awesome AoE that's capable of destroying waves of minions
- Has a stun that lasts TWO seconds. I know this sounds like nothing but when you play it seems like it's way longer.
- When fed... Idk I'm tired as hell and I can't explain it but it's tremendous. He will destroy you.
- Can initiate fights with a well placed Mummify
- Can escape from melee (sometimes)

Cons:
- If you miss your stun, you CAN (but not WILL) get plain ol' good ol' fashion "Squeal-like-a-pig" raped.
- You can't really get a kill without your stun landing (1v1 of course)
- Doesn't have the best escape
- Doesn't come with a 30 rack of Natty Ice

Items

O.K all items are situational. Know that. Like if you see a PP (Physical Power) opponent who's like 10-3, I think that's a sign of WAKE THE **** UP and get some armor. In which case, I would replace my Chronos' Pendant for a Breastplate of Valor.

However, if your team is just getting absolutely destroyed and they have a fed PP and MP (Magical Power), then go for the Hide of the Leviathan. Just always be looking at what the enemy team is building and how they are doing.

These items are in no particular order

MAIN CORE AGAINST MP: Boots of the Magi, Void Stone, (maybe Gem of Isolation) and Rod of Tahuti.

MAIN CORE AGAINST PP: Boots of the Magi, Rod of Tahuti, and Gem of Isolation.

Fed PP: Hide of the Leviathan, Breastplate of Valor

Fed MP: Void Stone

Luxury Items: Warlock's Sash, Pythagorem Pieace, Obsidian Shard, Chronos' Pendant (I really like this item), Breastplate of Valor, Magi's Blessing, and Hide of Leviathan.

Skills

Always Max Out in This Order:

1.
Death Gaze (Skill Key 4 - Ultimate)
Anubis focuses all of his energy into a piercing gaze, doing 70/85/100/115/130 (+45% of your magical power) magical damage to all enemies in the path up to 70 feet away, every 0.3 s seconds for 3 seconds.

Cost: 90 mana.

Cooldown: 90/85/80/75/70 s.

This is usually your finishing move. Use it after you've nailed your basic combo of (2) (3) (1). Or if an enemy is barely escaping in a team fight, pop it if he's in range and you should take him down.

2.
Grasping Hands (Skill Key 3)
Anubis calls for help from the underworld as hands penetrate the ground and claw at his enemies, doing 25/40/55/70/85 (+35% of your magical power) magical damage every .5 s and slowing the enemy by 35% for 2 s.

Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 mana.

Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 s.

Easily, this is your best skill. It clears mobs in seconds at a safe range and can prepare you for an early (2) if the enemy gets caught in your slow. Use this often early on in the game to push minions or retaliate the enemies pushing of minions.

3.
Plague of Locusts (Skill Key 1)
A plague of locusts bellows forth from Anubis' mouth, smothering all enemies in the area and doing 35/50/65/80/95 (+40% of your magical power) magical damage every .5 s for 3 s.

Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana.

Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11s s.

This is mostly used as an extra layer of damage to add onto your skill combo. However, if you find yourself (not overextending) in a lane with no enemies, position yourself adjacent (meaning 90* angle) to the enemy minions so you can kill them all in 1 plague of locusts.

4.
Mummify (Skill Key 2)
Anubis fires a bandage projectile, mummifying his target for 2 seconds.

Cost: 60 mana.

Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 s

This is your initiator and determinating factor if you will be a good/bad Anubis. You gotta land this skill shot to blow off your major combo and afford a kill. You can't be too eager with getting one though, as you usually want to catch the enemy off guard and throw it off.
In addition, this can be used to initiate fights or just poke the enemy with it then throw down your Grasping Hands (3) thereafter.

Creeping / Jungling

Anubis is very good mid-late game at taking out creeps. As long as you aren't behind in levels, you should be able to just use (3) then (1) to take out most of the jungling creeps.

Playstyle

In lane, Anubis is a champ that waits for the enemy to make a mistake, then he punishes them for it. Like if the enemy is pushing your tower and attacking it, freeze them with (2), follow up with (3) and try to use (1). I guarantee that'll make him **** his pants and he won't wanna push any more.

If he's in a position that's within your (2)/(3), you can poke him with that then get back. However if there aren't too many minion's around (concerning early game), go for the (2), (3), (1), (4) rape rape rape combo and you should take him out.

So his usual order is (2), (3), (1), then ultimate (4). But it can sometimes be (3), (2), (1), (4). This allows him to be slowed in certain situations to allow an easier freeze with (2). However, it'll be a very rare situation where you will actually do that. One occasion would be when the enemy is retreating and jungle and you barely have line of sight of him. Throw down that (3), he runs around the corner slow, nail the (1), follow up with the ult and GG he ragequits.

And when it comes to running away, the enemy is probably right behind you (so don't turn around, look at the minimap). You should throw down 3 right under you and if he jumps over it, your last resort is a damn good (2). (2) is the biggest skill factor in Anubis. You must be quick with your combos and you must nail it perfectly.

Also, Anubis is amazing at clearing creeps. Just use his (3) early game on the melee (since (3) on the archers will be an overkill) and you'll push pretty good. But if you wanna save some mana/time and no one is around, get in a coned position for your (1) so you can take out the archers and melee simultaneously. He's just incredible when it comes to lane pushing.

Don't forget, Anubis is awesome at ganking. So if you're just cruising in mid and you see an ally lane constantly under pressure, don't be afraid to hop on over and open up with a safe/positively nailed Mummify (2). Then do the rest of your combo from there and, with the help of your teammates, he should go down with a breeze.

Summary

Anubis is challenging, fun, and even looks awesome. As mentioned, this god can be a challenge to play at first because of his (2) but after a while you'll get used to it. So don't give up on him because I feel that he's one of the best gods out there. Always have smart positioning and ability timing and you can rock the boat with him. Everything (literally, everything) is about timing and positioning. So good luck. And have fun.
