Extended Build

Introduction

Baron Samedi is a very fun Mage to play. He can be a bit tricky at first but once you get the hang of him he is great!

Baron is best used as a heavy hitting support. His abilities do large amounts of damage and he can be learned fairly quickly. He has a very interesting Passive called Hysteria that can be a very crucial addition to your team.

Pros / Cons

PROS

Great Crowd Control
High Damage
Good Healing
Good Range
Good Sustain (With Brew)

CONS

Squishy Late Game
Slow Movement Speed
Weak Basic Attacks
Ability Dependent

Hysteria

Each time Baron lands his Abilities and Basics on an Enemy God, they gain Hysteria. Displayed by a floating skull above the Enemy God, Hysteria is a Passive De-Buff for Baron that allows him to deal additional Damage to an Enemy. When an Enemy hits Max Hysteria they take 20% more Damage from Barons Basic Attacks and Abilities.

Abilities

Barons 1st Ability known as Vivid Gaze is a damaging basic ability that creates two beams. These beams can be used as a Cone Shaped Double Line Attack or can be maneuvered into an X to allow both beams to hit your target at the same time. If both beams successfully hit an Enemy the second beam does 15% Additional Damage. If the Enemy God is affected by 30 Hysteria or more, their Physical and Magical Power are reduced as well as Attack Speed for 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 Seconds.

Baron Creates a Circle Ground Effect known as, Consign Spirits that explodes Damaging any Enemies inside. If an Enemy God is inside its Radius, Spirits fly out of the ground and heal allies nearby. If the affected Enemy God has above 30 Hysteria, the Spirits provide movement speed and cleanse any slows.

With Wrap It Up Baron sends his Snake wrapping around an Enemy God Slowing them for 1.75 Seconds and Rooting them in place for .75 Seconds. This ability does Damage Over Time or Tick Damage for 2.5 Seconds. If the Enemy has 30 or more Hysteria, the snake chains to nearby enemies doing instant damage and slowing them into a root.

Barons Ultimate Ability, Life of the Party, is a cone shaped ability that pulls Enemy Gods towards Barons Coffin for 3.5 seconds or until an Enemy God is sucked into it. During this ability Baron is immune to Crowd Controls and receives 35% less damage! If an Enemy God is sucked into the Coffin but don't die, they are stunned and gain Max Hysteria. Enemies with 30 or more Hysteria experience a harder pull strength.

How To Play

Baron's abilities can take some time to get used to. His most effective ability is his Consign Spirits. When using him its best to wrap the enemy with his Wrap It Up 3rd ability then think about your next ability/abilities carefully.

3 + 2 + 1 For High Damage and Heals

3 + 2 For Healing

3 + 1 For Damage

3 + 2 + 1 + 4 For Full Kit to Deal Maximum Damage

You can also use Baron more supportive with his 2nd and 3rd abilities.
His 3rd ability can be used to assist your team in Ganking an enemy or used as an Initiation into a full team fight.

His 3rd ability can also be used to prevent an enemy from getting away who is low on health, allowing for quick and easy kill.

The same can be done with Barons Ultimate, Life of the Party, his 4th Ability!
Simply Drop His Ultimate to pull in a Enemy who is low or half health for maximum chance at a Kill/Gank.
Barons Ultimate can also be Used to Pull Enemies AWAY from friendlies who are low on health and trying to escape.

Note: Enemy Gods who are hit by Barons Life of the Party or Wrap It Up, can escape it with Purification Beads

Great build in great detail!

I noticed on your pen build you go over cap for CDR, why not swap Desolation for Obsidian or Divine Ruin

Ahimenes | September 3, 2022 3:45pm
Sands 10|20% + 10% Desolation - overcaped? Cap is 40%, not 20.

Kriega1 (139) | September 3, 2022 4:10pm
Pendulum + Deso = 30%, even with 500 pot to get an extra 10% to hit 40 you won't overcap, you'll just hit the cap.

Missing Reaver and Estaff as options. (I guess Reaver is on the 2nd page but not sure i'd recommend Tahuti rush, it's not really efficient).

Personally here's the build path's I'd recommend:

Sands of Time (Pendulum of Ages/The Alternate Timeline), Spear of Desolation, Charon's Coin, Obsidian Shard, Soul Reaver, Ethereal Staff (Antiheal: Divine can replace either Shard, Estaff or Deso slot)

Sands of Time (Pendulum of Ages/The Alternate Timeline), Warlock's Staff, Spear of Desolation, Charon's Coin, Soul Reaver, Ethereal Staff/Calamitous Rod of Tahuti (Antiheal: Divine can replace either Warlock’s, Estaff or Deso slot)

Conduit Gem (Gem of Focus), Chronos' Pendant, Warlock's Staff/Spear of the Magus, Obsidian Shard, Soul Reaver, Ethereal Staff/Staff of Myrddin (Antiheal: Divine can replace either Warlock’s or Estaff slot)

Swap Pendant for Sand's / Pendulum

Sand's (Pendulum) > Deso > Magus/Divine > Reaver > Shard > Tahuti / Ethereal is the build path i'd recommend

Not enough penetration. I would trade Orb for coin

I played around with a couple different builds and came up with a new one that has a good amount of penetration. Try it out and let me know what you think!
