Intro ;D

This is a guide for Guan Yu the Saint Of War, he's a very good god with very good potential to burn someone down for your teammates to secure the kill because of his constant barrage of in your face ability's. Now the first 2 items are not protection items so be careful don't go balls out there's a high chance they can kill you just play passive and when most of the wave is clear and an opportunity occurs poke them a little bit to show who's boss. With you dash (#2 ability) you can slow down the enemy and combo it with your 3 to do more damage and helps your teammates to catch up if needed and a combo of Creeping Curse with your 2 is an immense slow and then your ult for the stun then your teammates should be right down the corner to secure the kill.

Doing it Right the first time.

Right of the batch you should buy Mark of the Vanguard for your tanky-ness and girdle to help your role as support tank to take on speed and cool-down buff camps right from the start and go to lane just as your minions collide with the enemy minions, or buy Creeping Curse and tank 1 buff camp and go to your lane. [/u]5 healing/mana[/u] potions for extreme durability so when you get back you can purchase a couple more potions and full Boots of Magi and aegis or beads depending your enemy teams kit.

Just poke and zone at this point unless an oppurtunity comes.

After buying these boots you now see that you're way faster than you were and do relatively more damage now then with just the vanguard. Now after using all your potions and all your mana after pushing the lane to the enemy tower you and your lane partner go do the 2 buff camps on your side make sure you give the buffs to your lane partner, don't be greedy. then return to base and buy full Warlock Sash and start off your stacks and after you hit 100 stacks you have a significant amount of health, you're still somewhat squishy but mark of the vanguard helps and the more you kill minions the more you stack up the more you have hp the harder you are to burn down. At this point you should start warding, Map control is very important to make sure you don't get any nasty surprise visits from the enemy team. put one on the corridor closest to the objective (FG/GF) and mana/buff and the same at the cooldown buff camp so the only way the enemy team is going to pop up is threw your wards or if they just walk up the lane but by then you know they're coming from a distance. Far away enough you can either make the decision between securing the tower or make your escape.

Mid-Game Wonder!

At this point you're doing a lot of damage for a tank, now fill your role as a tank and buy protection items either Void Stone if you're having more problems with magic dealers or Breatplate of Valor if it's physical dealer's the problem benefits on either on is the breastplate gives you cool down reduction so you can combo your ability's more often and with your number one ability to heal allies and the more gods are in the healing radius your cool down is in addition reduced in addition to have a decently good boost in your mana and for Void Stone, well you're always in their faces and it aura causes all enemies within 55feet gets magic protection reduced by 25 so you'll do more damage and your allied magic dealers will also do more damage. Now at this point health potions do so little that you should stop buying them completely and buy wards. put 1 ward at each objective (Fire giant/Gold Fury) then leave your 1 ward so when someone counter ward from the other team you go and put your last ward and destroy his/hers with a simple basic attack. Around this time after winning your first team fight and there's 2-3 dead you should go and tank up the gold fury for your team and kill it while your carry helps you burn it down.

Team ENGAGE! FIGHT!

Now this is late game and if you win a team fight and 3 or more goes down its time to fight the Fire Giant. you should now have Mark of the Vanguard still there as your Boots Of Magi, Breastplate Of Valor and Void Stone all done to maxed rank and if you feel the physicals are doing more damage to you then the mages are, buy yourself Sovereignty for added physical protection and a little bit more magic defence with a bunch more health for you and it's passive helps your teammates to be a little bit more tanky as well since it has an aura that grants 20 protection from magic and physical to all allies within 40 feet. if it's magic dealers the problem buy Bulwark of Hope it gives you a huge amount of magic protection as well as health and if ever you fall in health for a small duration your protection raises by 50% which in most cases will save your life if you're running away or to sustain yourself in a fight long enough. you might realise that I enlisted 7items instead of 6 well the mark of the Vanguard is now been used to the fullest after maxing out your 6th item. Sell your vanguard and buy the 7th item. Still buy wards because map control is key if you put wards up around the enemies buff camps on both sides of the jungle being ganked will never happen and the enemy assassin like Loki will have a hard time hiding because of your wards. Also if the enemy trys to farm gold well with your wards they'll have to do it while you're watching them and then if your team is well situated you can steal that buff and/or kill the target.

Conclusion

I'm Glad you read up to hear, I hope you like this build. it's my first and I will keep doing more and if I see I get some good responses I might do a video on these builds how to play the god and when to buy items and such.

Vokunah

Legend:
FG = Fire Giant
GF = Gold Fury (not girlfriend)
HP = Health Points

Pros / Cons

ProsYou'll do more damage
You still fit the role as support tank

Cons
mid game if you get caught your burnt down somewhat easy but the enemy team sacrificed a lot of resources to burn you down and might be enough to give your own team the advantage because their ability's are on cooldown.
