Introduction

W***up fam! This is my very first guide on this site and boy I hope to be in depth with this. I first started maining Jing Wei when she was in the free rotation, and being an arena junkie, tried her in arena. I can safely say that I "rekted" the enemy team. Crits on almost every shot, ganking with my passive. It was one of the most fun experiences I've had in Smite. So I bought her and she is now and will forever stay, my main. This guide is to help those with troubles play Jing Wei. Now these are my ideas, so do not criticize too harshly.

YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD PLAY JING WEI IF:

[*] You say the words: Fam, Totes, and other "hip" lingo
[*] You like memes
[*] You are kawaii as f*** and you know it
[*] You LOVE crit but Ne Zha doesn't interest you
[*] You like killing stuff dead
[*] You are pale but secretly like to tan

Pros / Cons

PROS:
CRIT CRIT CRIT
Great excape combo (1 and 3)
Great passive for arena

Shut down by non-knock up CC
Generally squishy
Improper use of passive can put you into inescapable situations

Skills

As I am horrible with this site, YOU GET NO PICTURES!!!

[PASSIVE] RAPID REINCARNATION:
"When exiting the fountain, Jing Wei prepares for takeoff and then ascends into the sky, allowing her to fly over obstacles at an increased speed with CC immunity."
---This ability is one of the two that makes Jing Wei, Jing Wei. In Conquest (ewwwwww), this passive will only take you to about your second tower. In arena though, this can let you fly to your enemies base, and then some! With this ability you can position yourself behind enemies, pick off the enemies that have low health and retreating to their base, or scout out where enemies are!

[1] PERSISTENT GUST:
"Jing Wei creates a gust of wind that damages enemies and knocks up enemy gods when summoned. The gust persists for 6s and continues to knock up and deal additional damage to enemies every 1s. If Jing Wei walks onto the area she is knocked into the air and gains an attack speed buff for 7s."
---At the beginning of the game, this should mainly be used for positioning enemies where they don't want to be. It doesn't matter if it is for your teammates advantage because you really just want to play mindgames with people. Do not throw this out willy nilly though. Later in the game, this should be paired with your 3 for escape or used to slow down enemies escape, letting you close in for the kill. I tend to not use the attack speed portion of the ability too much seeing as you have to intentionally CC yourself in order to get the buff, which in my mind, isn't worth it.

[2] EXPLOSIVE BOLTS:
"Jing Wei loads her crossbow with explosive bolts that augment her next 3 Basic Attacks. These attacks are wider, have increased critical chance, and deal area of effect damage."
--- THIS IS YOUR CORE ABILITY. Seeing as how this is your main damamge ability, use it wisely. Early in the game, the crit buff is nice, but not nearly large enough to be useful. Later in the game though, this ability almost guarantees that you will crit your basics. Whenever I know that I am going to try and flank somebody on the enemy team, I will activate this ability before leaving the base so I don't have to worry about activating it when I land. And seeing as how it widens your basic attacks, it can be useful for minion clear, but only if you know the cooldown will be up before you encounter enemies.

[3] AGILITY:
"Jing Wei dashes straight forward and gains a 3s immunity to basic attack movement penalties. She may use this ability while knocked into the air for a longer range dash and a 6s immunity to basic attack movement penalties."
--- GOSH THIS IS A GOOD ABILITY. Not only can it get you out of knock ups faster than a best friend at prom, it gives you NO PENALTY TO BASIC ATTACK MOVEMENT. IT'S A FRIGGIN HASTENED FATALIS AS AN ABILITY. So that's why I don't ever build it. Paired with your 1, this is Jing Wei's best escape or engage option. Use this to close space between your prey or to increase the space between you and your would be killer. But be careful on using when you know that you're going to be hit by any stun CC as it will stop you dead in your tracks and the cooldown will be incurred and you will most likely die. And this does not dodge Nu Wa ult. Believe me, I tried...

[4] AIR STRIKE:
"Jing Wei channels briefly before taking to the sky. She then flies forward and upward while covering the area below her in explosions that damage all enemies in the area. After her attack she hovers for up to 2s before landing at a ground target location."
--- I'm sorry but this ult is ****. It should really only be used for securing kills that are too far away, or to escape a hairy situation. The damage isn't all that great compared to your auto's if you follow the build. The hover at the end is like a mini passive that lasts a good time, so if you are using this as an escape, try to mix up where you land.

WHY I BUILD WHAT I BUILD AND WHEN

First off:
YOU RUSH THE FUDGE OUT OF RAGE. Having it in the early game does increase your damage output than if you had a Deathbringer. All the Bringer of Death does is increase your damage from crits and increases your chance to crit by 20%. Having the extra crit damage at the beginning of a game is impractical if you can't get the right rng to get crits left and right. Rage not only gives you the same exact chance to crit as the Deathbringer but it can increase your chance for every crit you don't get!

Boots are second because as stated, getting your crits is more important honestly. You wont die as much early game if you are careful and actually play from range.

Soul Eater is next because, well, why not? Extra movement speed and lifesteal? Yes plz.

Qin's Sais is a necessary. Finishing this item is a big damage increase seeing as how you will NO LESS than 4% of the enemies' health on any basic. This is mainly so that you can trade with guardians and higher health target. The attack speed is very nice too.

Wind Demon is your next build item, since everytime you crit, your attack AND your movement speed is increased. Td;lr, more crit = more sustain = more dead enemies.

DEATHBRINGER IS LAST OMG. In the late game your crits are already amazing to enemies. But building this item is the cherry on top. Increasing you crit damage is good in late game because this is generally when you want all of your kills so you can reduce tickets faster. Simple stuff ikr.

WRAP UP

SUMMARY OF JING WEI:
CRIT
CRIT
CRIT.
All you want is to crit and kill stuff and you will most likely succeed. But try to play smart while doing this. Be aware of how many enemies are near your target and who you will turn on next when you easily drop your first target. Mages are your main priority seeing as how they are the squishiest and easiest to kill. Watch out for Guardians since they will run away once you get them to say, half health. They will kite you, and unless you see no one coming and you know that no one is stealthing, follow and crit the duck out of them. Position yourself with your passive to ensure kills and to help out teammates. Hard CC will stop your momentum and knock ups don't really affect you, just like Kate Gosselin.
