Introduction

I figured i'd post my build up here for all to use, since it seems to be working out pretty damn well for me in Normal Joust. The main goal is to level him up early with minions and decimate everyone in your path mid - late game. I hope you enjoy playing this build as much as I do because I have yet to find anything I like better. Enjoy!

Items

Mark of the Vangaurd

Mark of the Vanguard is a much better starter item than the Vampiric Shroud as it gives you even more health at the beginning of the game, as well as the much needed +5 to magical and physical damage protection.

Dynasty Plate Helm

This one is more of a personal preference, but it's great for it's early game protection and magical buffs to start stacking your defense so you don't have to worry about it later in the game.

Shoes of Focus

The reason I use Shoes of Focus instead of Shoes of the Magi earlier is because of the reduced price and the additional 250 mana. It gives the same amount of movement speed and it gives you a 10% cooldown reduction.

Book of Thoth

Book of Toth is incredibly important in this build. It enables you to get up to 75 stacks of +10 mana. You get 1 stack per minion kill and 5 stacks per god kill. On top of that, 3% of your total mana is converted into magical power! This allows you to stay out longer to hold the lane while still being able to dole out skills.

Pythagorem's Piece

I think most people would put Bancroft's Talon here for the reduced price and similar stats, but I chose Pythagorem's Piece for the increased 15% lifesteal, which is 3% more and the additional 10% cooldown reduction. Plus, it's only $200 more.

Soul Reaver

Soul Reaver is the last key ingredient to this build. It gives a huge boost to magical power (+100) and mana (+300). The key here is to try and focus on damaging people with higher health who are confident they have the lane held down. This item really shines with it's passive though. When a god takes damage from your abilities, they take 15% of their maximum health in additional damage, if it hits multiple gods, the additional damage goes to the god with the highest health.

Relics

Meditation

Meditation is necessary throughout most of the match when using this build. It's most helpful at the beginning, when you're holding your initial push, so you can maintain a steady flow of mana for your skills as well as a small amount of health.

Curse

Curse is great in the late game when you see a the enemy team group together and you want to pull your ult. If you hit Curse right before you want to hit your ult, it slows all the enemy gods within a 55 unit radius by 40% for 5 seconds as well as reducing their healing by 65% for the same duration of time.

Pros / Cons

Pros

Great damage on high health players
    Good sustain
    Fast cooldowns

Cons

    Glass cannon
    No speed boost

I love the unique build guide! I love Poseidon so I'm always looking for new builds! Only thing i feel it is missing is an explanation on the abilities/combos that can be done with the abilities. Add that and I will gladly upvote and favorite!
