The intro.

Hello and welcome!

This guide will cover the oh-so-awesome god Chang'e, her ability kit is amazing and powerful.
Please know that I am not a tournament super pro, this guide is merely intended for the casual lot. But i don't see any wrong with using this in ranked matches as well.

If you have ANY constructive criticism, please tell me as this is my first guide. I will update this as the patches goes.

Thank you for reading!

Her abilities and it's uses.

So by nature, Chang'e is a very ability spamming god. As she got some pretty short cooldowns she can be dancing all over the battlefield aiding allies or taking down enemies.

Let's go over the uses of her abilities.

Passive: Jade Rabbit

She got a rabbit that you can use to retrieve one item from the shop. Similar to Dota 2.
This will be good as it allows you to stay in the lane a lot longer. You should have him running 100% of the time.
You also get 25% movement speed without backpedal penalty when using an ability.. AKA dancing.
Use this to poke the enemy with your Crescent Moon Dance, or to escape/catch up gods. Since she got such a low cooldown on her abilities you can pretty much race away in late game.
---

(1): Crescent Moon Dance.

She does damage on an arc-like swoop from left to right.
This is a fun one. With the build you can pretty much spam this ability mid & late game.
Allies hit by the ability get physical protection for 3 seconds.
This is when you want to be more a support than a mage. Spamming this on your allies are a great way to protect them from assassins such as Loki.
---

(2): Moonlit Waltz

You dance away from harm and CC, for 3 second-ish.
Can be used to escape pretty much any type of CC, including Ultis. Make sure you also use this against abilities that will definitely kill you, wasting it on an basic attack can be your doom.
It also restores mana based on X amount of hits you too while dancing.
BEWARE: Not usable when silenced!!!
---

(3): Moonflower Dance

This heals you and allies in 30 yards for X amount.
Using this as much as possible for healing allies and get away while you're at it.
It will also reduce healing done on enemy gods by 50%.
Useful against Ra, Guan Yu and Hel to slow their healing. Use it in a gank.
---

(4), Ultimate: Waxing Moon

You deal damage in front of you. Stunning god 1 for 1 second, 2 for 2 sec, 3 for 3, etc.
A useful ability in group fights. As the stun get's bigger for X amount of enemy gods hit, the more the merrier. You can use this ability to gank or escape. A good example is when XBalanque uses his ultimate to gank you, just use your ultimate on him to stun and then quickly follow it up with (2) Moonlit Waltz to stop HIS stun while you run away.

The good and the bad.

As i mentioned, it's normal for her to dance all over the place. With the short cooldown and the movement speed, it's what she does best. The good and bad are based on the build and may not be how Chang'e is during a different set up.

Strenghts

  • Fast and mobile
  • Good at poking
  • Jade Rabbit good in Conquest, Joust and Domination
  • Can be powerful mid and late game.
  • A good healer/support.
  • Good as hybrid between Mage and Support

Flaws

  • Low defense
  • High mana consumption becaues of spam
  • A bit slow early game due to mana
  • Passive Jade Rabbit is useless in Arena and Assault.
  • Bad as a pure damage dealer. Heal your allies!

Chang'e for dummies.

The basic version of what I do.

Start
Start with tier 2 of the Shoes. No potions!*

Step 1
Ask for help to get the blue buff from the jungle. A jungler can help you with it, or your duo lane buddy.

Step 2
When you get back to your lane, do careful poking until your reach 250 gold. At this point send your Jade Rabbit to go get your Meditation immediately.

Step 3
At the rabbits return you should have your ultimate ready. Ask your local jungler for a gank or synchronize an ultimate attack for a swift kill with your lane bud'.

As soon as you can afford the Shoes of Focus, send your rabbit back again.

Step 4
Now farm the lane, send the rabbit away for Rod of Tahuti. The early MP5 will be necessary when you spam away your abilities, and the magical power for more efficient abilities.

Step 5
Now get Chronos' Pendant so that you can spam your abilities even faster. Especially your ultimate.

Now just finish the build shown above and you should be on your way to dancing glory!
---

REMEMBER TO STAY IN THE LANES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

*Because your rabbit get's you meditation, you don't really need potions.

Dancing with the stars!

Here you can find how to fight each god. I will add all eventually or if requested.

I will add more god encounters by request or as i go.

I will split each counter up in 3 parts:
  • Attack
  • Defense
  • Gank

XBalanque
  • Focus on dodging his Poison Darts. Try to poke him with speed, but don't risk getting hit.
Make sure he doesn't have his Branching Bola ability active as it can deal damage to you through him hitting your creeps/allies.
  • Should he activate his ultimate, i recommend stunning him with your own ulti before you run away with (2)Moonlit Waltz, dodging his ulti stun. You can Waltz while the third or second tablet circle still remains.
  • If you're trying to gank him, make sure he wont be able to escape you by jumping away. If he jumps, you can ulti him when he lands. (2)Waltz after him if he uses his ultimate. You can otherwise spam your abilities to catch up with him.

Loki
  • You should be careful when encountering Loki. If you're alone the best option is to get help, unless you are in an advantage over him. He is quick at both attacking and escaping.
Standing close to creeps or tower will be the safest mid>late game. Try to dance a safe distance away from him and make sure he can't stealth up on you.
  • If he goes into stealth, you can either try to (2)Waltz away when he is about to strike, or you can quickly seek cover from tower. Beware, as he can use his ultimate to jump on you and stun you, making you a quick kill. Saving (2)Waltz is advisable, but also very risky.
  • Loki is a slippery fellow, and ganking him is not the best to do alone. He can quickly escape and turn on you instead. Try to make sure he doesn't have his ultimate for a quick escape.
tip: Use your (1)Crescent Moon Dance to "scan" for him while he's stealth'd.
