Hello all! First guide here. I'm mainly an Arena player, and I used to main Guardians until I saw the release of Da Ji.
She is absolutely fascinating with her combination of skill set, ability chain capability, mobility and Ultimate, so I decided that I was going to try out Assassins for a while until she came to Consoles (since we're a little behind. lol)
The idea of this build is to start off as "jump in, damage, escape, let someone else follow up", or the alternative, "see damaged enemy god, jump in for the kill, escape".
I found that Da Ji can't typically be played like a "normal" Assassin. Her skills are meant to be chained after an element of surprise (very similar to Loki).
I based my build according to her abilities, rather than a "run and gun" sort of idea.
The reason that I've picked the items that I have, in the order I have, is not only because they're somewhat inexpensive, but I've noticed that if you're able to chain Trickster Spirit with a basic attack (with Horrible Burns) active, it can really pack a punch.
The stacks you gain from the boots allow you to take more hits if the enemy god isn't as close to death as you'd like - or if you're really in a pinch, you have the Heavenly Wings or Aegis Shield to get you out alive, or bring you closer to your target - and the stacks from the offensive items (excluding the Trident) all reduce your enemy's Physical Protections, as well as slows on basic attacks.
The Trident was added as an extra bonus, as after you use an ability, you gain the extra 30% damage on a basic attack. The Trident - combined with a basic attack AFTER using Trickster Spirit - while Horrible Burns is active is not only devastating, but can typically bring most foes down to half health. From that point, you can chain Thousand Cuts, get an extra charge on the Trident, and land the killing blow.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to look at and read my guide. Let me know how your experiences are with this build, and definitely let me know if this build is sustainable in other game modes as well. I'm interested in hearing all your thoughts!
Thanks,
Cr4sh.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
