I am a Loki player in Xbox since Beta. I've made a terrible mistake since I started to play Smite: Loki Solo. Solo was a good lane for Loki because it was only farm, poke, tower. But now the meta have changed, and the lane that purely have a 1v1 is the Carries lane. When I noticed it, I started doing Loki Carry, and now I have 25 matches as Loki Carry, only 6 loses. In this guide i'll show you my playstyle with my main in Conquest Ranked.
And I don't speak english well, but i think everyone will understand this Guide
The bad thing about Loki carry is the counters:
Early Game counters:
Freya's Banish can lift Loki's decoy, but it have longer CDR, so you can farm if you be quick.
Rama and Izanami, their clearwave will push you to your tower, but when your decoy is lvl 4 you can overfarm them.
Hou Yi, it's obvious.
Skadi, she have a good clearwave, and if you tries to poke her, you will be seriously punished
Late Game counters:
Hard CC guardians (Ymir, ***bha, Ganesha)
Hydra's Lament passive works after every Loki ability. Knowing that:
Vanish + one Basic Attack + Aimed Strike with one Basic Attack (i call it "Aimed Striked) + Ult with one basic attack + Decoy with another Basic. All of your Basics will have the 25% more dmg from Hydras. You need to be really quick, because this combo will give time to your enemy.
If you want to kill a squishy that have 80-1% of his life, and he's far from you, you can just ult with aimed strike
And you can do the same to kill full life enemies if you get really strong: Aimed Strike + Ult with one Basic and Vanish them if needs to (haha)
Well, when you see a Hunter or Mage alone, hunt it. When you see a lone lane with your minions advanced, try to destroy the tower. If there's no advanced lane you can let your mates advance it, so they can get strong too (or you can do it, ur choice). A undone buff? Do it. When you finish Transcedence you won't need mana buffs anymore, so you can let it to your mid or supp.
And YES you can help in teamfights, but be careful to not suffer any control, and try to stay stealthy. If you see a chance to SHINE, JUST DO IT
There another things to say, but if you are Platinum+ you already know these things.
Well, it's like the old solo lane: Power Farm until 10 - 15 min. I tried to start with Bumba and Rangda's sometimes, it's good, but Transcedence is O.P, it helps you farming in lane and in jungle, you won't run out of mana if you can control it well. Bumba is great for jungle farm in early game, but it dont have any power/penetration stats. Rangda's worth only when you get 10 stacks, it can be even better than a regular penetration item, but it's not my playstyle. 3 HP pots, 3 Mana pots.
And now a thing that I still have some doubts: the first Relic. I usually take TP first, so I can farm better, but if you want to stay safier you should take Aegis/Beads.
You can poke sometimes, use Mana pots if you run out of mana, but until lvl 7 a normal carry can have a better farm than a Loki, so i suggest you to safe farm until lvl 7-8. Farm your buffs, using HP pots to not lose health during the process. Go to the base, finish your Transcedence. If you still have gold you can take Boots for move speed or Ward Chalice.
Be careful to not be killed more than once
AAND If you feel like you are free to do whatever you want you should try to gank middle early.
Take Hydra's Lament.
Here you start to SHINE.
Withyou will deal tons of damage. Here you can kill easily the enemy carry and mage, can gank well, can take towers really quickly, etc.
About the second relic, Aegis/Beads to stay safier, or whatever you want to.
Jotunn's Wrath is another Loki's power spike: CDR, Power, Penetration. It will make all easier for you.
After Jotunn's you can buy another Penetration Item, but it depends on the enemy team. If they have a Hel, for example, you should take Brawler Beat Stick. If you feel like killing some tanks or bruisers, take Titan's Bane. And if you don't want penetration afterall you can take HeartSeeker, but it won't help too much when you want to destroy towers/phoenixes.
Always be with a Sentry Ward (for FG)
Take down Gold Furies whenever you can.
When you get your 5th item your mid game ends
HeartSeeker is a core item, if you don't take it as 5th item, you should take it as last item. If you don't have enough penetration you should sell Transcedence and then take the last penetration item (in this case, Titan's bane or Brawler"
If the game lasts more 35min, you NEED to buy Physical Power pots. 3k first, then 500.
Well, it's your moment. The enemy supp may peel their carry the whole time so you can't just take down him, and they would probably use a lot of wards too, that's why you need to be careful too, bcause if you die you lose your power pot. With my experience a may say that with both potions you will have atleast 400 phys. power, with 35 + 33% penetration (if you sell ur Transcedence), so yes, you can take down phoenixes in 5 seconds, instakill Mages or Carries (if they do not have phys. defense) and even kill tanky ones easily.
At this time your time don't need to get more strong because they already are, so always try to advance a lane, if you see a chance, destroy their phoenixes.
This Guide is unfinished (i took less than a hour to do it), I'll improve it later
