Bruiser Hades: Tank and Kick Booty!

Hello friends. This is just a quick little build and tip guide on how to play Hades. Hades is an incredible initiator and magical bruiser. His ultimate, Pillar of Agony, can instantly change the tides of a team fight. These two builds I've readied for you each capitalize on Hades' bulk and potential power.

The first build offers a mighty damage output while still keeping enough bulk to handle the heat of initiation. Do not expect to tank for extended period of time with this build. This build only provides enough bulk to survive while you dump your payloads of damage and crowd control onto the enemy team. Do NOT expect to take a Vengeful Assault from Artemis or more than a Minotaur strike before you need to back off.

The second build has moderate damage, nothing life threatening, but gives the user rather adequate bulk. This build allows Hades to stick around much longer than the first. This can lead to tower dives, tanking objectives, and over all being an annoyance to the enemy carries. Your spells won't hurt quite as much, but you will be able to survive a lot longer with this build.

Pre Match Jungling-

Try not to use your first skill point until the jungle minions spawn. This way if an early game threat appears, like Arachne, or a pregame kill needs to be secured you can choose your ability accordingly. I tend to start out with a point into Devour Souls at the beggining of the match unless I need to escape a fatal early game jungle invade in which case I would take Death From Below. I don't often see most Hades do this, but try to apply blight to all three jungle buffs minions before using Devour Souls. With the healing From blight, the defense from Mark of the Vangaurd and Vampiric Shroud, and your allies help getting an early blue or speed buff should be a cinch.

Early Laning Phase-

I would recommed waiting until level 2-3 before attempting to harass as Hades. Once you reach those levels try to catch enemies sitting in thier minions. Proceed to initiate with Death Frim Below and follow up with a Devour Souls, make sure to cath the enemies ad the minions in the Devour Souls. When minions are blighted and hit by Devour Souls they explode doing extra damage in an aoe and provide a nice heal. This allows you to harass the enemy and heal yourself. The defense and regen from your starting items should allow you to repeat this process until the enemy either wisens up or is softened enough for your ally to secure a kill.
REMEMBER TO TRY TO CATCH THE ENEMY IN HIS MINIONS

Level 5-

Once unlock your ultimate ability, Pillar of Agony, it's time to try to secure some kills. If you have enemies in lane with a leap or dash they can easily escape your powerful pull. The solution to this is to get them to waste thier mobility spell. This can be done by PLAYING AGRESSIVE and not using your ultimate until you know they are trapped.

Playing agressive with your lane mate can force the enemy to waste their jumps. An example would be having a Sunwukong use Year of the Monkey and unload his powerful spells onto the enemy lane. If they don't flee they will die and if they flee, you chase with Death from Below and trap with a Pillar of Agony allowing you or your lane mate to secure a kill.

Ganking mid is also a viable option. Keep an eye out for these mids- Ao Kaung, Ra, Freya, He Bo, and Artemis. These gods can not escape your Pillar of Agony withouting wasting an ultimate or popping a Purification Beads.

Mid Game and Beyond-

Follow similar tactics with forcing jumps and trapping with Pillar of Agony. Remeber to combo your Death from Below into Devour Souls. Remember that Shroud of Darkness can cancel channeled abilities like Taolu Assault and Plague of Locusts to save team mates. Most importantly, have fun!
