Hey! Here's another attempt at providing a build and guide. I also made guides for Ravana,Hou Yi and Erlang Shen. This one is for Awilix.
I've been playing the game for a while now, and could never do well with an assassin. I finally decided to give Awilix a try, and have consistently done pretty well with her. Maybe you will like the way I build and play her, too! She's an ability based assassin who does very well early game, and can continue to do well throughout the match as long as you don't fall behind and get your build online. She's not very team fight capable, but she can peel and save the day if played correctly.
Passive: Initiative - If Awilix strikes first from out of combat, she increases her physical power by 30% for 2.5 seconds.
This passive rewards players who play strategically with patience instead of just dive bombing in every time they leave the sanctuary.
Awilix doesn't necessarily use AA auto canceling like other gods (Loki, Susano), but she definitely weaves some AAs in-between her abilities. Here are a couple of examples:
Max Damage: 1, leap, AA, AA, 2, AA, 3 with knock up, AA, 4, AA, AA, 2
Best Damage: 3 with knock up, AA, 4, AA, AA, 2, AA until complete
This combo is my go to for melting folks and at full build it'll even finish some tanky folks
Poke and wound: 3 to poke, 2 to close distance, AA, 1 and escape
I'll add some more in here as I master new combos with her. Any suggestions in the comments are welcome, too.
Again, this guide is for each mode except Conquest. The only difference is starting items. If playing Conquest, get Bumba's Mask, Bluestone, Tier 1 boots, and some pots.
First get Tier 2 for Hydra's Lament and Tier 1 Boots. The focus of the build is power, CDR, and penetration.
Hydra's Lament - gives Awilix some power, some CDR, and has a double passive that gives extra damage on basic attack after using an ability as well as extra MPS based on missing mana. This is great for her mana hungry self, as well as weaving attacks in on your abilities (Featherstep is prime example). She doesn't really do AA-canceling like other gods such as Loki or Susano, but she still benefits from the passive when setting up her other abilities.
Warrior Tabi - not much to say here. It provides power and movement speed. Get it second as Suku is happy to provide you your movement speed until you get these online.
Jotunn's Wrath - another core item for Awilix. It provides power, penetration, mana, and CDR.
Heartseeker - another nearly core item for Awilix. It's synergizes exquistely with her combos and Hydra's for that extra bursty damage, on top of more flat penetration which is always nice on her.
* Stone Cutting Sword - the power from this is good. You can either get it fourth instead of Heartseeker, or get it either 5th or 6th item. The movement speed is just icing on the cake to be fair. The passive benefits Awilix greatly because you strip away protections and don them yourself. Awilix is an in your face and out again assassin, so the power and protections are great.
Titan's Bane - more power and penetration. The flat 33% penetration is great for taking out armor clad opponents and just melts the squishies even more. If the opposing team is relatively squishy, or just not building defense, you can always swap this out for any of the situational items. I've contemplated adding Asi here instead for the extra attack speed, lifesteal, and penetration but haven't tested it yet in how it effects her combos.
Situational or defensive. You can go Shifter's Shield here to get more power on top of protections. Or if you're facing an aggressive hunter or assassin, the Hide of the Nemean Lion is a good pick. Genji's Guard is great for facing a bunch of magical opponents, and it'll cap you off at the 40% CDR to boot. You can also get this situational/defensive item earlier than last item. Especially if you're falling behind and need the defense sooner. Or, if you're wanting to get Hide of the Urchin, get it around 4th item so you can still get your stacks before end of the match. I usually get Spirit Robe for the rest of my CDR, as well as some CCR because cripples are ... well.... crippling on Awilix. And the double physical/magical protections are nice. If you and your team are ahead, you can feel free to get another damage item. Runeforged Hammer works great with Awilix's CC-based kit. Also Heartseeker for more pen and burst potential. You could consider Masamune for additional power and protections. Finally, Bloodforge is an expensive last item to consider, but provides a nice health shield on a kill and a lot of power to boot.
That sums Awilix up pretty well in my opinion. I'm still working on her myself towards Mastery X, but this is what has worked great for me. Like I said before, I was complete trash with every assassin I've played since starting Smite. Awilix has changed that streak for me and I consistently get about 12 kills and maybe 2-4 deaths in an Arena match.
There's also guides on how to fill the various roles, but I'm not going to cover that.
I'm open to any suggestions both build-wise and for playstyle. Please leave constructive comments in this case. I hope you like this and enjoy playing The Goddess of the Night!
