Introduction

Hey! Here's another attempt at providing a build and guide. I also made guides for Ravana,Hou Yi and Erlang Shen. This one is for Awilix.

I've been playing the game for a while now, and could never do well with an assassin. I finally decided to give Awilix a try, and have consistently done pretty well with her. Maybe you will like the way I build and play her, too! She's an ability based assassin who does very well early game, and can continue to do well throughout the match as long as you don't fall behind and get your build online. She's not very team fight capable, but she can peel and save the day if played correctly.

Abilities

Passive: Initiative - If Awilix strikes first from out of combat, she increases her physical power by 30% for 2.5 seconds.

This passive rewards players who play strategically with patience instead of just dive bombing in every time they leave the sanctuary.

Ability 1: Summon Suku - Awilix mounts her panther gaining 25% movement speed, but 50% strafe speed reduction. Casting the ability again causes her to leap for 280 + 80% damage at max rank to all enemies in an area. Cancelling the ability does not trigger a cooldown.

This is an awesome movement skill for traveling the map, chasing an enemy, engaging, escaping, and intimidating the enemy. This ability also affords you the opportunity to build boots second or even third so you can maximize early game potential through other potent items such as your starters or damage items. I'd recommend not using the leap unless absolutely necessary to secure a kill that you DON'T need an escape for or as that extra couple of feet to avoid certain death from a Thanatos dive. Max it last.

Ability 2: Featherstep - Awilix flips over the last enemy she hit in the last 1.5 seconds, rooting, crippling for .6 seconds, and dealing damage based on the next attack in her attack chain. The ability does 180 + 50% damage at max rank with a 1x/1.5x/2x multiplier depending on which attack is next in her chain. If her third hit is next, then Featherstep also does an AoE damage at 2x multiplier.

This is her bread and butter skill. She uses this to secure kills, close the distance, and can even be an emergency escape if used correctly. Featherstep should be your first skill and maxed as quickly as possible. One use for this skill is to use her third ability to trigger the first hit, then Featherstep to close the distance. The escape can be used to get over small walls and/or put minions between you and the enemy - though, generally you just used this in your attempted gank and it's on cooldown. The perk to being able to use this as an escape is the fact that it grants a VERY short time of damage and CC immunity while she's in the air.

Ability 3: Moonlight Charge - Suku come's to Awilix's aid rushing forward and damaging all enemies in his path. If hit from the side or behind, they are also knocked up. Total damage on this bad boy is 250 +60% at max rank. This should be your second ability and maxed second.

This is your set up for your ultimate. It's also good for poking with it's relatively good cooldown (and your built in CDR). It does some damage, CC, and can be used to intimidate your opponent in thinking your ult is incoming, and thus prematurely popping their beads. A gamble shot you can take is to use him through walls and then hitting your ult when you see the damage numbers. If you're lucky, you'll pull your opponent over the wall and into certain death. Also, as previously mentioned, you can use this to trigger the first hit for Featherstep to help close the distance in a 1v1 or chase.

Ability 4: Gravity Surge - Awilix calls upon the power of the moon to immediately pull the closes enemy god she's facing that is either leaped or knocked up into the air. The target god takes 400 +80% damage upon landing at max rank. Awilix is then bathed in moonlight as a Stim gaining 70% attack speed and 60 Power at max rank. Awilix is also immune to roots, slows, and knockbacks for 6 seconds. Take at level and max this as it is available.

This is such a fun and irritating ult. I'm nowhere near mastery X with her, but I still "waste" my ult just as often as I hit - if not more. One way to alleviate this is by waiting briefly after the knock up before using the ult. In many cases, your opponent will pop beads after being knocked up which prevents you from getting the pull. Also, waiting lets you confirm the knock up because when the description says immediately, it's not exaggerating. You can land the ult on other's gods' abilities as well. Friendly Tyr in the group? Stick nearby and help confirm a kill after his juggling act. Enemy Izanami trying to dive away? Still counts as a leap and makes her vulnerable to Gravity Surge. These are but a couple of examples. One example of when NOT to use it is with Freya's banish. The enemy is banished, so you can't interact with them. (I say this because I learned the hard way and was killed for it).

Combos

Awilix doesn't necessarily use AA auto canceling like other gods (Loki, Susano), but she definitely weaves some AAs in-between her abilities. Here are a couple of examples:

Max Damage: 1, leap, AA, AA, 2, AA, 3 with knock up, AA, 4, AA, AA, 2

Best Damage: 3 with knock up, AA, 4, AA, AA, 2, AA until complete
This combo is my go to for melting folks and at full build it'll even finish some tanky folks

Poke and wound: 3 to poke, 2 to close distance, AA, 1 and escape

I'll add some more in here as I master new combos with her. Any suggestions in the comments are welcome, too.

Build

Again, this guide is for each mode except Conquest. The only difference is starting items. If playing Conquest, get Bumba's Mask, Bluestone, Tier 1 boots, and some pots.

First get Tier 2 for Hydra's Lament and Tier 1 Boots. The focus of the build is power, CDR, and penetration.

Hydra's Lament - gives Awilix some power, some CDR, and has a double passive that gives extra damage on basic attack after using an ability as well as extra MPS based on missing mana. This is great for her mana hungry self, as well as weaving attacks in on your abilities (Featherstep is prime example). She doesn't really do AA-canceling like other gods such as Loki or Susano, but she still benefits from the passive when setting up her other abilities.

Warrior Tabi - not much to say here. It provides power and movement speed. Get it second as Suku is happy to provide you your movement speed until you get these online.

Jotunn's Wrath - another core item for Awilix. It provides power, penetration, mana, and CDR.

Heartseeker - another nearly core item for Awilix. It's synergizes exquistely with her combos and Hydra's for that extra bursty damage, on top of more flat penetration which is always nice on her.

* Stone Cutting Sword - the power from this is good. You can either get it fourth instead of Heartseeker, or get it either 5th or 6th item. The movement speed is just icing on the cake to be fair. The passive benefits Awilix greatly because you strip away protections and don them yourself. Awilix is an in your face and out again assassin, so the power and protections are great.

Titan's Bane - more power and penetration. The flat 33% penetration is great for taking out armor clad opponents and just melts the squishies even more. If the opposing team is relatively squishy, or just not building defense, you can always swap this out for any of the situational items. I've contemplated adding Asi here instead for the extra attack speed, lifesteal, and penetration but haven't tested it yet in how it effects her combos.

Situational or defensive. You can go Shifter's Shield here to get more power on top of protections. Or if you're facing an aggressive hunter or assassin, the Hide of the Nemean Lion is a good pick. Genji's Guard is great for facing a bunch of magical opponents, and it'll cap you off at the 40% CDR to boot. You can also get this situational/defensive item earlier than last item. Especially if you're falling behind and need the defense sooner. Or, if you're wanting to get Hide of the Urchin, get it around 4th item so you can still get your stacks before end of the match. I usually get Spirit Robe for the rest of my CDR, as well as some CCR because cripples are ... well.... crippling on Awilix. And the double physical/magical protections are nice. If you and your team are ahead, you can feel free to get another damage item. Runeforged Hammer works great with Awilix's CC-based kit. Also Heartseeker for more pen and burst potential. You could consider Masamune for additional power and protections. Finally, Bloodforge is an expensive last item to consider, but provides a nice health shield on a kill and a lot of power to boot.

Conclusion

That sums Awilix up pretty well in my opinion. I'm still working on her myself towards Mastery X, but this is what has worked great for me. Like I said before, I was complete trash with every assassin I've played since starting Smite. Awilix has changed that streak for me and I consistently get about 12 kills and maybe 2-4 deaths in an Arena match.

There's also guides on how to fill the various roles, but I'm not going to cover that.

I'm open to any suggestions both build-wise and for playstyle. Please leave constructive comments in this case. I hope you like this and enjoy playing The Goddess of the Night!
