Tap each threat level to view Artio’s threats
For a lot of us Artio lovers out there we get a lot of slack from people about it not being a viable support option for us compared to some of the other star supports. However for the few of us that understand Artio, and know when, and how to play her she really shines bright, and can be a win factor for your team. She is not without her issues much like other supports, so I am here to explain everything I can to you about her.
Artio does not feel the greatest into most team comps, shes a very niche god, with some real issues when it comes down to sustain management throughout her early to mid game play. We do our best to fix the sustain issues by building sustain items such as (Hide of the Urchin). When it comes down to knowing when to pick Artio you need to check your team comp, and the enemy team comp.
First think I will always check for is does my team have CC immune ults, and are the ults they have good enough for our game. As you know Artio does not have an ult, so right away you put yourself at a slight disadvantage, so you want to do your best to not playing her with other gods that do not have ults, such as Ullr, Hel, Tyr. If you do, you will have put your team down 2+ ults now.
Second you want to check the enemy team, do they have a gods that will punish you for not having a CC immune ult, the big ones would Ares, Hun Batz, gods that will CC, displace you and not give yourself a chance to fight back, and will force you to purchase beads. If you dont see those gods, you then want to ask yourself with the gods that your team has selected, will you have a lot of good follow up off the cc you are bringing, and do the enemy gods suffer from the cc you are using. Artio has a cripple in her kit, this will stop all mobility usage from the enemy if you put them in your cripple field, gods like Fenrir are not able to leap away, Cupid/Rama are not able to dash away. Artio is very good at bringing pressure to the map. you and your team need to use that to your advantage, you might have sustain issues early, but in exchange for that you have a high kill floor.
