Hello and welcome to my Ao Kuang 3v3 guide. This is my first guide and i would like to thank you all for clicking on it. My in game name is BESTNATHOR, i know pretty ironic right, making a Ao kuang guide and my name is best thor. Well anyways, a little bit about me : I have been playing for around 2-3 months, so I am relatively new to smite, yet i have been playing LoL for around 2-3 years and i would like to say I am decent in both of these games. My main in league is gold 1 and i basically just am good at all pc games. Who i main in smite is : Thor, Ao Kuang, Artemis, Neith, and Arachne. I know all of those characters like the back of my hand. Enough about me lets get thsi guide started! Enjoy.
Pros: 2nd best pusher, one shot ability, strong AOE, really fun, can carry if team has half a brain, stong overall pick
Cons: can be squishy early game, without physical team you are almost useless, revolves around mid to late game to truly shine.
Polynomican-
75 MagicPower, 300 mana, 10% Magical Lifesteal
Passive: After using an ability, your next basic attack will do 100% of your magical power as additional damage.
This is literally amazing. If you have 800 AP, after using an ability your next basic attack will do 800 dmg. You don't notice its effect right away, but trust me, you will.
Shoes of the magi-
50 Magic power, 250 mana
Passive: 18% movement speed, 15%Magical Penetration.
Movement speed, plus your 2, plus sprint = mercury ult speed
Book of Thoth-
125 mana, 15 MP5, 100 Magical Power
Passive: You PERMANENTLY gain 10 mana per stack, recieve 5 stacks a god kill and 1 stack a minion kill. The max stacks is 75. 3% of your mana is CONVERTED into MAGICAL POWER.
Alright this item right here was made for people like RA and AO kuang, use your tornado on a minion wave, good bye minions, more stacks. You gain magic power for it.
Rod of Tahuti-
125 Magical Powe, 15 MP5
Passive: Magical power gets increased by 25%
Huge magical spike, youll jump from around 300 ap to 550 ap
Breastplate of Valor-
550 mana and 75 physical protection
Passive: 25% cooldown reduction
This overall is a great item, it gives you a ton of mana, protection from physical gods, and a 25% cooldown reduction. Your ult will be up faster then ever.
Soul Reaver-
300 mana and 100 Magical power
Passive: When a god takes damage from your ability, they receive 15% of their maximum health in additional damage
This is the prime butter on your ult, if you thought it did a ton of damage before, your ult will now do 15% of the maximum health extra. This affect can only occur EVERY 60 SECONDS. So dont use your 3 and then ult, you should always ult first to activate this effect. But try to hit your ult, don't waste it.
All the items that have mana go into the book of thoth which will get converted into magical power. This build is for your basic attack to do 900 damage(after an ability), your ult to almost do 2000 damage and for your tornados to do around 200 a second. Late game you will be a force that will make the other team afraid to push.
This is not counting the stacks you receive!!!!!!!!!! So you will have more then what i list here in your final stats.
Magical power: 759 (with the mana converted and stacks received, you should have close to 800-900)
Magical Lifesteal: 10
Magic penetration: 15
Mana: 2240 (stacks and stuff should give you 3000)
MP5: 40
Cooldown: 25%
Movement speed without actives: 413
118 phys protection
I max my 3, then 1, then 2. Obviously put a point in your ult when you can.
Your 3 is your tornado, this is a huge thing in 3v3s. Not only does it obliterate minion waves, but if a enemy touches it, they will be in trouble. This is what you will use to receive stacks in when you get your book. Always put this in front of a minion wave.
Your 1 is a lined skill shot that slows enemy's and does little aoe dmg. If 2-3 gods are close together and you hit the one in middle, they all will take the damage and be slowed.
Your 2 will give you movement speed and make you immune to slows for a brief second.
Your passive is Graceful wind which increases your magical power by 5% of your maximum mana. This is why i build items with mana. I gives you more and more magical power. This is why you dont build magical penetration. Because no matter what you will be doing a **** ton of magic damage no matter what they build.
Here is a simple trick, ever want to know if the enemy Ao or your Ao is good? If they use their 3, which is their tornado, on a minion wave every time, then they are good, if they dont, they are bad. Nuff said.
Alright a few tips:
-DON'T OVER EXTEND EVER.
-Get blue buff when you can, but don't leave lane for it. You are a huge game changer with minion waves, always focus on minions unless a ra and ah muzen cab are on your team. And even if they are, focus the minions.
-When you use your 3, try to always put it infront of the minion wave a second before they arrive. So when the waves are coming, put it right infront of where they will be, you will hit them all.
- NEVER ULT A MINION WAVE. I'VE SEEN SO MANY AOS DO THIS, DON'T BE ONE OF THOSE AOS.
- Try to angle your ult, this will take some practice, try to put it a few feet behind them. When you hear an AOs ult go off, your first instinct is to back up, so say they are to the right of you, angle it sorta behind them but dont go to far off, just a few feet. Your ult is a game changer, if you hit it, you have a free kill pretty much, if they have anywhere from 1-75% hp and it hits, they are one of two things, wondering why they are dead, or they have 2 hp left.
- When attack the titan, your tornado will hit him, and so will your ult, you have the ability to solo the titan, just place a ndao on him, use your 1, basic attack and ult him. Your 1800 dmg ult will do 1800 dmg to the titan.
To do:
Put your 3 in front of minion waves but not to early
When you get your polynomican, and you want to poke them without using your 3, use your 1, basic attack and walk back
When building, build one item at a time, say you have 3000 gold, and you need 2900 to finish a item, yet two other items cost 1500 each, BUY THAT ITEM first.
On your first back, finish polynomican , then finish booths, BUY THE BOOK NEXT BECAUSE YOU NEED THIS BEFORE 12 MINUTES.
never let your turret die. You are the turrets body guard.
Not to do:
NEVER ULT A MINION WAVE, YOUR TORNADO AND 1 IS ENOUGH.
Don't 1v1 anyone unless your ult is up. (unless you are full build)
DONT OVEREXTEND , YOU WILL DIE
It is simple. He is arguably the best mage in 3v3s because a good ao can kill who ever he wants, when he wants.
Amazing pusher
ONE SHOT EVERYONE Late game (with he exception of ymir, and other huge tanks, yet if they have 50% or less hp you will one shot them with your ult)
Can carry almost any game.
SO much fun to play when your ult hits. You will notice that you are the game changer)
Who doesn't like playing as a dragon who can do whatever he wants?

My other recommendations are covered by Jararo.
I typically refrain from buying Poly until later on, simply because there are other items that fit into his core spots.
You give little game play tips other than what people should already know. Little tips on how to play Ao, or how to use his abilities. This is not helpful unless the reader has just started the game, and they would learn little on how to actually play Ao Kuang.
Your items section tells us what we already know: the stats. But why are they good items for Ao? There is little info on that.
For the abilities section, you talk about what the abilities do but not HOW they should be used. Again, not helpful.
I would suggest, as someone with one of the highest rated Ao guides, that you take a look again, really learn Ao Kuang, and then update this guide.
