Introduction

Hello all my name is SpaceBiTe. This is my first SmiteFire Guide. I decided to do a guide for Anubis. He is by nature a solo lane God (although can be a fantastic Jungler).

This guide is not the be all end all guides to Anubis. There can be no such list. Every match is different. You should learn to read what your enemy is building and change the build accordingly, however this is a good starting point that is a nice, well rounded build suitable for most situations.

I'm always open to learn something new.

Pros / Cons

PROS:
-Highest Damage Mage in the game.
-Potential Backdoor
-Can Ult Gold Fury, Fire Giant and Titan.
-Can function as Mid, Solo or Jungle
-One of the best 1v1 Gods in the game

CONS:
-No escape
-Very squishy
-High gank potential (which is why this is a solo guide)
-2 of 3 abilities leave him rooted

Skills

Sorrow

All of Anubis' abilities steal Physical and Magical Resistances from their target. This works especially well considering all of his damaging abilities do damage per tick.
This passive also grants Anubis' an additional 30% reduction to all to all crowd control reductions, however this does not stack with Resolve.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Plague of Locusts

Your second most damaging ability, the reason I do not level this first is because this guide does not focus on being very powerful early on. Due to this, I prefer to use Grasping Hands for safe farming and harassing. This is a short to mid range cone damaging ability.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Mummify

A single-target stun. You should use it to attack, escape, and most importantly hold them still for your ultimate Death Gaze. This is a single-target skill-shot stun.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Grasping Hands

This is your most important ability early game. Does not deal as much damage as Plague of Locusts, but gives you more utility, harass, and zoning early game. Can help you escape if placed properly.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Death Gaze

This is what Anubis is famous (or maybe infamous) for. This devastating ability will aim in whatever direction you are looking at. Enemies will try to avoid your gaze so you want to Mummify your target so they can't run around. 70ft range.

Items

Shoes of the Magi

Shoes of the Magi grants you Magical Power, Mana, Magical Penetration, and of course Movement Speed.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Book of Thoth

The reason Book of Thoth is amazing on Anubis is because he has one of the highest base mana pools in the game and nearly all of his viable items provide additional mana.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Rod of Tahuti

This item will give us additional Magical Power and MP5, but most importantly it increases Magical Power by 25%. With the stacks you have earned from your items, your abilities should now have very high damage capable of destroying most enemies with one ability rotation.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Bancroft's Talon

This item, besides the Magic Power and Magical Life steal that is very useful on Anubis because it adds to his passive and gives you a great amount of sustain with his Area of Attack (AOE) skill. Bancroft's Talon's passive is also useful in tight situations when you have low health to get that nice boost of Magic Power to finish off enemies in close fights.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Spear of the Magus

While it may be a weaker item compared to others available, the way Anubis' combo (which I will cover in the next chapter) works stacks with the passive of this item perfectly, and will help you get the maximum amount of damage output you can in a single combo.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Chronos' Pendant

It is obviously for CD reduction that you are no longer getting by having Shoes of Focus. And its MP5 will go extremely well with the Rod of Tahuti, allowing you to stay out and spam those AOE's for days.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Spirit Robe

There are better defensive items that can be chosen depending on the God you're matched against. Spirit Robe adds a nice security blanket of both physical and magical defense for team fights, as well as a small amount of CDR, which is the only CDR item I build.

Combo

This one is meant for poking purposes more than anything. Shoot Grasping Hands and then use Mummify so the enemy is inside the Grasping Hands for a longer duration
____________________________________________________________________________________________

One of the ultra combos. You will melt thru non tanky gods like nothing with this.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

This is a great damaging combo. When using this after using Mummify make sure to run to the opposite direction of your enemy and then Plague of Locusts so when they turn around to run away you are there blasting away. He would have to go around you in an arc.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

The ultra combo of death and fun. Popping them with Grasping Hands 1st then Mummify and the effect from Grasping Hands will make them run slow, you close the distance and finally hit them with Death Gaze

I like your second build a lot. I figure Anubis will still be squishy, but if he steals protections from his target, then he is gaining them himself, yes?
