Amaterasu Solo Build/Options

Hey everybody, this is my first solo lane build so would appreciate any feedback you guys have. I just started playing Ama and have had great success with this build. See the build notes for my thought process for choosing which items.

Ama is my first warrior that I truly enjoy playing, before this I would play Chaac mostly, occasionally Guan Yu or Wukong.

Early game is really Ama's only weakness. It is n't terrible, but it does struggle against against most, specifically hunters or assassins in the solo lane. Your wave clear and damage isn't good yet, and your healing isn't enough to sustain against pokes. Sit back and if you have to, don't be afraid to lose a little XP early, you will catch up mid game. The worst thing you could do would die.

There is a definitive point around level 12-14 where Ama really turns it on, and you become almost invincible. Your 2 can clear a wave straight through, your stance switch heals you a significant amount, you have great movement and your ult is great for helping with ganks. The items I recommended are pretty defensive so killing 1 v 1 is tough, but doable.

My thought process with solo was always the "do your job and don't die" mentality. So the build I have is defensive, but I think when selling boots and getting Hastened Katana, you can do a lot of damage over time.

I think with this build order is situational. If you are surviving and want to do more damage, build that earlier. If you are vs someone like Camazotz and getting bullied early, build defense and anti-heal first. It really depends on the game.

I never see Hastened Katana recommend but i think it is great on Ama. The first time I got this item was against Chang'e, someone who I think most solo laner's fear. With this item and my anti-heal I can stick with her health wise, her healing is reduced, and I can lay into her with basics. I can bait out her CC immune and ult. So I think this item is very useful.

In terms of what shield to get I think they all have their advantages and once again is situational. If you need more health early get Void, if you want some more sustain without health necessarily get Beserker's or Glad. Find what works in each situation.

One thing to note is for enemies with escapes, try and bait them out before you Ult, or it is just a waste. Let jungle know this as well, try and save the Ult for a chase down in a 1 v 1 not an instigator. For team fights, it's not bad to engage with the Ult just be careful.

Overall, builds are recommendations, use what you like, let me know what you would change or what you get.

Ama is the first solo laner where I have fun every time I play, she has a very fun kit, and is relatively easy to pick up.
