Hi Guys,
My name is Brandon White, aka Bacon Wizard.
I have been playing Smite for a while now, and I'd like to give out my advice; I think that no one should be restricted from great information to become better.
I believe that anyone can be a good player, all they really need is a solid build. Without a good build, even the most seasoned players can have a hard time.
Combustion (Passive)
Agni's passive is great for continuously grinding on enemies hit points (HP) while you are waiting for your abilities to finish their cooldown. After 4 landed basic attacks, the passive will activate, your next Flame Wave, or Rain Fire will do tic damage every .5 seconds for 3 seconds.
Noxious Fumes
Noxious fumes serves as Agni's stun. Without it, Agni would rarely land his Ultimate effectively.
Noxious Fumes should only be leveled up once. If you continue to put points in it, you will only be hurting yourself by making the ability cost more mana, thus burning your sustain.
Furthermore, you most likely wont be using it for damage because the enemy god will have little to no problem getting out of it. As for minion clearing, you're better off using Flame Wave and Path of Flames; you'll be saving a lot more mana.
Flame Wave
Flame Wave is Agni's main damage ability towards minions. Make sure you put your points in this ability early so that you can defeat minion waves and poke enemy gods when they get too close.
It is also important to note: Max your combustion (passive) before hitting a wave with Flame Wave, that way, you get the most out of that ability.
Path of Flames
Path of Flames is Agni's escape ability. Only use this ability when you are in danger and need to get out quickly. Make sure the attacking god(s) finish using their stun/root/silence before dashing, or else you'll lose your Path of Flame mid dash and your cooldown will begin.
When you are in a safe situation, it is okay to use Path of Flames as a wave clear, otherwise, only use it to escape.
When dashing away from an enemy, use your noxious fumes to set the path ablaze when the enemy is within the radius; this will further allow your escape. Note: This ability is very effective to clear waves.
Remember, Path of Flames before Noxious Fumes.
Rain Fire
Rain Fire is Agni's Ultimate ability, use this ability to poke your enemies, and to unleash massive damage. This ability pairs beautifully with Noxious Fumes. Always keep one Rain Fire Meteor handy when pushing a lane for a potential gank.
Shoes of the Magi
Typically, I would max this item first, just to ensure my safety in lane. It gives: penetration, movement speed, and decent power, I believe it to be a safe bet.
Bancroft's Talon
Bancroft's Talon should be your second item. This will provide the most of your power, and the lifesteal is a nice touch to keep you on the field.
Spear of the Magus
Spear of the Magus is definitely going to be your third item, since you have bancroft's talon, your power is now online, you can start zapping people's defenses with your combo's.
Note: Use Rain Fire and immediately run your Noxious Fumes before your ultimate hits to set off a stun and executing your Spear of the Magus. Since they will be stunned, you can unload the rest of your ultimate on them doing increased damage.
Chronos' Pendant
Chronos' Pendant is your primary situation item. You will want to cast your abilities more frequently at this stage of the game, so this would be ideal.
Note: If you are having a hard time with enemies around you such as the enemy jungler, instead of Chronos Pendant, choose Breastplate of Valor, as it provides the same cooldown reduction, and provides physical defense.
Rod of Tahuti
As you might have heard it before, Rod of Tahuti (Da booty). This item is core to any mage in the game. It boosts your power to a new level, a must during mid-late to late game.
Obsidian Shard
Obsidian Shard will round off your build; it will give you a lot of power and extra penetration to further intensify your ultimate.
Note: If you need to use any situational items, please be patient and apply it where you would normally place Chronos' Pendant. It is crucial to have your first three items to be: the boots, bancroft's talon, and Spear of the Magus.
Breastplate of Valor
Breastplate of Valor is the band-aid to any mage. Whenever you are being harassed by a enemy jungler, this item will help sooth the pain, and allow you to escape easier.
Spirit Robe
Spirit Robe is intended for any plays involving a Freya, especially if she is jungling, and if you realize that she is snowballing. This will help you escape her at the very least.
Winged Blade
Winged blade is another situational item that you would replace Chronos' Pendant. Believe me, you'll be glad you have it when you're facing gods with cripples and slows, especially Cupid!
Note: Make sure to level the tier of your active according to your needs in order to save gold for your main build.
Greater Purification
This item will save you a boat load of trouble when facing a team with a lot of CC.
Aegis Pendant
If the enemy team is constantly attacking you, this item pairs well with Greater Purification.
The combination of Aegis Pendant and Greater Purification allows you to move without taking CC or damage, whereas Aegis Pendant's counter part "Greater Aegis" will prevent damage and CC, but will not allow you to move or cast any abilities.
Note: "Greater Aegis" is more suitable when playing against players who have a massive damaging attack mixed with CC, such as Poseidon.
Here is a visual of my stats playing with the build I have provided on SmiteFire. It is very effective, even if there are some losses, you will still have a high kill rate which can only help your team.
