Achilles Jungle Conquest Build/Guide

A Glass Cannon build that relies on reflexes and mechanical skill to perform well. this build will be updated with more threats of all levels, additional guide portions and tips as time goes on if feedback is good.

In-depth guide to Achilles' abilities

Before you engage, always remember to use your 2, radiant glory since it heals you based off of abilities hitting enemies, gives you 20% cc reduction, and gives you a % physical power buff which can be quite useful even in the early game.

IMPORTANT: If your team has a ***bakharna, Ne Zha, Heimdallr, or the enemy team has a Nu Wa, Rama, Kali or Chiron you can time your ultimate to hit them right when they land/come out of ult if you believe they will be or already were in execute range, I've done this when I was playing achilles solo and my team's ne zha ganked the opposing odin, ne zha ulted him, and I timed my execute to hit him just as he landed from the ne zha ult, immediately executing him.

Achilles' 1, Bonk. Very satisfying to use, try to stun enemies when they are in the animation of a powerful ability to cancel it and put it on cooldown or make them recast, like bellona's hammer, you can cancel it during its wind up and she will not deal the landing damage but will retain the hammer, keep in mind you can stun chernobog mid dash, stun chiron mid dash, ratatoskr, etc. try to use it to cancel your enemies' escape.

Achilles' 3 is a hugely versatile ability and by far and away my favourite part of his kit, since this build is high burst, you are going to want to avoid the dmg from the enemy, what i typically do is get close, and 3 through them to end up behind them, completely throwing off any front facing ability that may burst you down and temporarily confusing the enemy. This works especially well on: Thanatos, Hun Batz, Susano, Serqet taunt, amaterasu mirror shot, camazotz, chernobog, ratatoskr, hades 2. These are all the ones i will list here but there are far more. In general achilles' 3 is a hugely powerful ability and in the right hands will confuse and decimate your enemies.

Achilles' ultimate, the big execute is hugely useful when escaping, or finishing a kill, but depending on the nature of the fight, even if there is an execute target within reach, it is not always good to execute them because the enemy will see that as a chance to dive on you, especially if you miss it, now you are in an incredibly compromising situation which your team may or may not be able to help you out of.

Achilles' Passive, when playing achilles jungle I recommend to keep your armour off as the mobility is invaluable, but depending on the circumstances I'd put it on for the extra sustain if you are being focused or getting soloed. In early game, keep the armour off until at least level 10 so that you have early game clear and chase potential.

Not too sure about the early Trans pickup. Achilles needs Crusher Asap after boots to help with his early jungle clear. I’ve only seen trans picked up that early on Bastet.

Also for start I would go tier 1 mace over tier 1 trans, and pick up more pots rather than wards for sustain.

Also add Mantle and Relic Dagger as situationals.

If you want Achilles jungle build references check Smiteprobuilds and Smitesource.

Also next season you may want to swap out Void Shield for Shifter’s or something else.

On that page you can see Scream and IceIce built Trans after boots/crusher.

i can 100% see building crusher before trans, but the issue arises that the majority of the playerbase is in middle elo, silver/gold/plat, and having had experience in these levels of play, after a while, about 3rd item, people decide jungle is no longer yours, and that you don't need farm, so practically the only way to stack it is to build it early in middle elos where people just start taking xp camps, dropping speed, soloing their buffs, etc.

If they steal your farm just take some of their farm in lane. Also you still get stacks from kills.

Im not saying starting Trans is the end of the world, but it's not a fantastic start and if you're set behind then it's an even worse start. Not only is it 200 gold more expensive than crusher, but crusher assists in clear a lot - which is going to be even more vital to get online sooner when Achilles gets his damage nerfs next season.

Not gonna reply on your comment as replies have a limit per comment, which might hinder other peoples questions
I'm going to let someone else comment at your build apart from saying it looks decent, although I'm sad to see the lack of an (an in-depth) explanation for the order or item choices (mostly the order) at this point in time, however it seems those will probably follow in an update?

Overall it looks quite decent gotta love the buy Ward spam.

some points of feedback & discussion:
  • The explanation of the passive is a bit weird in the last sentence, probably a typo as you say to keep the armor on till 10 for the increased clear and chase potential. I assume you mean keep the armor off.
  • I would suggest the use of BBcode for ability names this is done by putting god/ability names between double brackets (these things "]" "["). this will make it clearer for newer players as the name of a god might not always tell them who they are and especially not which ability is Hades 2, unless the played him.
  • Next points gonna be about the threat meter. for Ymir you should mention to wait out his freeze as it has a long CD. Most of his threat falls off the moment he used it, although his ult is also a thing.
  • Kukulkan is far from the strongest god in the game. He does not see a lot of play in pro play. Reasons for this is mostly that his 1000 damage ult ( Zephyr does far from thousand and is mostly dangerous if he can still place his nadoes or your in it) can be easily dodged. especially by Achilles. If he drops his nados on his self you can wait it out and he can't do a lot.
  • Stunning Bakasura during the spit out animation of his Regurgitate is really impossible, he is CC immune during the first second of his ult (which allows him at least one basic attack normally).
  • I would suggest mentioning Neith's Broken Weaves as these will make an AoE root with Spirit Arrow.
  • Thanatos is considered a hard matchup, mostly since his Death Scythe. If he hits it you lose a ton of health, while he regains it. However you only talk about his Soul Reap. While I agree he would likely start with it at the point he start with it dodging towards him will not put you behind him unless you surprised him (and in that case I will probably use the opportunity of a (semi) point blank Death Scythe over Soul Reap to avoid being bursted during Soul Reap and to guarantee hitting my nuke.
  • I would suggest usefull input at the Ra threat. A good Ra won't be that much of freelo especially not for new players.

Hear this, will fix, regarded ra as freelo because whenever he's in my games I farm him on rotation lol, guess it comes with time. adding to this guide now.

Edit: When i said stun bakasura out of his regurgitate i meant when he jumps/engages and WILL use regurgitate, stun him to buy yourself time to run/burst him.

What about if the Baka uses Blink Rune to initiate and not his jump? You're not going to get a chance to stun him then because he will become CC immune through his ult before you get a chance to stun him. (And they could also itemise into Magi's Cloak).

Like the new text for Ra.

ah, yeah if he jumps you it should indeed allow you enough time to stun him.
