Welcome to my very first guide. Criticism is encouraged. Today, we will go over the very first God as well. Achilles, hero of the Trojan War. Achilles is a physical damaging solo warrior who relies primarily on abilities. However, given the right items he can be a very potential auto attack resetter with high sustain.
Pros
High Sustain
Flexible passive for protection or strength
Bruiser
1v1 Specialist
Cons
Can be anticipated and countered
Not a great teamfighter
Ult is your only kill confirm pretty much
Achilles's 1 Sheild of Achilles is a cone ability with a 1s stun duration and your poke utility tool for enemy gods. Upgrading his 1 first is imperative for minion laning as well. For Max damage output on this ability, try to hit your opponent at the max range given of 50 units.
Achilles's 2 Radiant Glory is a self buff ability primarily used for healing when using your other abilities. Extra protections, physical power, and a 20% CCR increase gives this ability the starting position of any ability combo mixed when going for an attack.
Achilles's 3 Combat Dodge is a dash ability used for chasing your opponent down or even retreating while still doing some damage as you back off. Hitting an enemy god will allow you to use this ability twice before cooldown. You can also use this as just catch potential for its a 2 part ability dashing first then hitting with a 30 range unit linear attack after 2nd activation.
Achilles's ult Fatal Strike is your kill confirming ability. The danger of this ability is its execution threshold for enemies under 30% health. It can be done up to five times (potentially killing a whole team under 30% health). Be wary of your own health during this time however as you take 5% more damage every time you use it before it goes on cooldown.
Achilles's passive Gift of the Gods allows you to worry about what you need most while at the fountain. You think you need more health and protection? Keep it as is. You want more movement speed and physical power? Basic attack while at the fountain to switch it over.
Achilles is a fun solo laner with crazy 1v1 potential when played right. Unfortunately, one build does not fit all situations and counter building is crucial to victory. Poke, Chase, bruise, and evade is the name of the game for this God. Happy Smiting!
