Intro.

Hey. I'm Nine, (formerly known as Rıven). I was formerly a Mentor on the Official Smite Forums, and today I will be sharing with you my vast knowledge on Bastet. This guide will touch on a lot of topics so bare with me, and let's go on a magical journey of Bastetery together.

Why Bastet?

Why should you play Bastet? Well if you like going in, insta-killing someone, then jumping out in one combo, then Bastet is for you. Bastet can be played a lot of ways, whether you want to pump out damage, or go in for the kill steal, it's up to you :) I have over 120 hours of Bastet gameplay, and I can honestly say I still haven't been bored with Bastet gameplay.

Pros & Cons.

Pros

-High damage Early to Mid game
-Good utility
-Mobile
-Good Objective control
-Kawaii af

Cons

-Falls off Late game
-CC=GG
-Ult is weak early

Skills.

Passive: Open Wound

TL;DR When you use your spells, your other spells will do more damage.

Pounce

I love this ability. You jump, and can return to the spot you jump, simple, yet can be made complex depending on the use.

Razor Whip

Super high damage DoT with a good range and radius.

Declaw

Toss a dagger, thin line, 30% slow for 2 Seconds.

Cat Call

Ultimate. This is the very symbol of rage to many. Angle is a triangle. Throw cats that chase opponents. 20% Slow

Skill Usage and Playstyle.

Here I'm gunna, as the title says go over the skills, and when and how you should use them.
Gunna start out with Pounce, This is your initiate, you escape, and sometimes your poke. Now I know your like, Nine..Poke with Pounce? Your only escape?! I know it may sound dumb, but hear me out! If you use it carefully enough, and know that you won't get killed jumping in, you can actually use pounce to bait A LOT of abilities. You have no idea how often I bait a Ymir Freeze, Athena Taunt, Ah Puch ult, ect. You have to be fast, Pounce in(or near) and out. You can also use either portion to avoid things and make people look dumb, aka people chasing you, you Pounce ahead, run some more, then Pounce back. Hint on this: If it doesn't work the first time, or if they catch on, just stop using it as a bait out. There isn't much to say about Razor Whip. If you position yourself carefully you can slide the ability to hit in a bigger radius than the indicator gives. Declaw is your snipe ability, and your utility, and it has a good amount of damage. I max Declaw second. Pounce has more damage than Declaw, but you usually aren't using Pounce as much for damage as for utility, so I max Pounce third. Now Cat Call is notorious for being a no brain, free kill ability, but to be honest it's not always that. Cat Call early(Level 5) is really weak, the cats are squishy. I wouldn't recommend throwing them under towers. Only use them when you can't secure a kill in the time of your Pounce return, or when you know 100% you'll get a kill, or to start out a fight that you know you'll win. As a last resort you can throw them out to escape.

Cat Trapping.

This is an advanced trick(I don't know if people know about it, but I'll share it anyway).

Your ult, Cat Call, forms in a triangle, meaning you can actually place it to converge into a trap, that will body block. That being said, this is pretty tricky to do. I took some screen shots of the ult position, and the result.

And that is the Cat Trap.

Game Mode Strategy.

Gunna go over how I play each game mode, though I don't have a lot of experience with Siege, Arena, or Clash. I play mostly Conquest and Joust 3v3.

Arena

In Arena, you want to just, jump in throw abilities and jump out. That is until you get ult.
At that point you have decent kill potential. You can pick off the low hp targets.

Conquest

In conquest, you either want to A: Go full aggro, and try to get a kill as early as possible, which is really good because if you snowball early you can literally carry a game yourself. Or you can play it safe until you get some damage and your ult(Wait untill level 5 then gank strats). Don't forget, you're a godly split pusher as well. You can solo towers easy with ult.(Just make sure there are no minions when you ult, so the Cats will attack the tower with you.)

Joust

I think Bastet is really strong in this game mode, because you're able to accumulate gold a lot faster and hit your power spike a lot faster. I play hyper aggressive, poke with everything. You can dive easily when your ult is up, and when you hit your power spike you should be able to blow up squishies without it.

Siege

I don't play a lot of siege, tbh. Basically, you start out with 2000 gold, you want to build as much damage as you can at this point, since you're also getting your ult very early, and hopefully pick up an early kill to snowball.

Standard Jungle Route(If ya didn't know).

Start Yellow, get Blue with solo lane. After that, go do mid camps with your mid lane. Make sure Mids wave is cleared first. Once the mid camps are down and mid wave is cleared, rotate to a back camp with Mid. Then go back to Mid and clear the wave. Then then clear the other set of back Harpies.

Itemization.

Bastet doesn't have one particular build, though there are some items you want to build just about every game. I'll go over the offensive and defensive items, along with actives, and what you shouldn't be building.

Absolute best item you can buy on Bastet. Since she's so mana starving this item saves your life, with damage to boot.(With my build, you'll have 2195 Mana[3% of your mana is converted into damage, being 65.85 extra damage on this item])

Cooldown, damage, penetration, and extra mana for Trans and Bastets Mana thirst, what's not to love? Wanna rush this after Trans and boots.

More physical power, and penetration. Pretty simple, make it hurt.

Move fast, get power, standard stuff. Since Bastet is mobile on her own, you don't actually have to rush into these honestly.

^^^^^^ These are items you will ALWAYS build ^^^^^^^

Defensive Pickups

When you hit your Titans Bane, this is your power spike. You have plenty of damage, and can opt. for defensive items, all depending on the matchup.

Probably the best item to pick up after Titans Bane if all is going well. Gives protections and extra damage, since you never want to lose much damage when you opt. defense items.

This item saves lives. It was nerfed, but still saves lives. You want this if they have CC, duh.(Ymir, Nox, Athena, Ares; Anything that will guarantee your death.)

This item is extremely underrated honestly. I build this if there's a fed Mage(And only then, or if you find yourself hurting from a magic damage source) 15% Cooldown, 250 Bonus HP at max stacks 40% magical protection, and 25 physical damage. Like I said after your main four items, you can opt this without losing much.

I only build this against Loki so he can't 1 shot me

Really Niche item like Hide, I only get this if there's a huge amount of damage coming out of Magicals that's constantly life threatening.

Others

I personally don't build this, nor have I ever. It got nerfed decently enough to make it not worth it imo.

If your teams heavy and you find yourself losing, don't forget you have a huge amount of split push potential with your ult. With this and even faster.

Actives

Best active for Bastet. CC is GG when it comes to Bastet, any outs will help you.

Curse is more of a team oriented pick up, or if they have a problematic healer(s). Also good if they have Mercury or a auto attack based hyper carry.

I don't usually get this item honestly. It's alright early but other actives are better.

This item offers you a lot of outplay potential. You want to use this if you're an aggressive player. You can get away from dives with this, you can use it to stall for Pounce cooldown, and you can use it to avoid ults.

This item is pretty self explanatory, deflect damage back. Works in some instances.

About me.

I've been playing Smite for maybe a year or 2. I got bored of League one day and wanted to try something different, so I gave Smite a try. I noticed I was actually pretty good from the start, so it stuck and here I am :) I have almost 400 Bastet games, and she's by far my favorite Goddess. Other than that I play Nu Wa, and Athena. If you ever want to play with me or something, feel free to add me. My IGN is Νine(Make sure you copy paste it, because though the "N" may look normal, it's actually Greek.)

Here's my Bastet stats.

It doesn't scale a lot so, it got nerfed but it stills 3 x 500hp hp which can take a lot of tower shots.
In late game cats don't get a better utility IMO.

I don't really agree with the cont. "Ult is weak early". Bastet cats got a lot of Hp in early game, mostly any god would die before killing them, also most of bastet use their lvl 5 reach to gank mid and even try to dive him letting the cats tank the tower, so them will hold a few shots, so i disagree, for me one of most strongest ults in early game, also it's backdoor potential it's insane.
