Deserter.

I know that when you leave a game and don't come back before it's finish you get the deserter penalty. But, why do you still get it when you get out when your still in the match lobby? Not sure if that's what you call it. The lobby where the game finds a match for you, where you choose your gods and stuff.

I mean it should just be when they game has already started when the penalty should be issued. What if you suddenly lost connection while you were choosing a god? It has happened to me all the time because of my weird connection. And I always have to wait 30 mins before i can play again...

You get it because if you leave the match lobby the match is canceled.

Think of it this way. Let's say you're in the match lobby picking gods and whatnot and your friend logs on. If there was no penalty for leaving, you would be very inclined to just go afk to queue with your friend. It's just to provide a penalty for leaving and cancelling 9 other's games.

But it only takes like what? 3-4 minutes to get another game? Its not like I wasted their time lol.

3-4 minutes is important

its not only that, but this means its okay to "dodge" a game if you're matched with players you know are "bad"

if you get a game it's supposed to be balanced and you have to play it.

if like animus said it is okay to dodge you will get player's saying, CHANG'E OR I LEAVE on patch day. which will be 2 to 4 people can say NO I CHANG'E OR I LEAVE. and you won't get to play for the rest of the day just because of them.
