At best I've seen 9 people online at the same time. There's also been some 5 man games - not that we'll ever talk about those again - and a few mixed parties.
The only downside is the mixture of US and EU. I, for one, can't stand playing on US servers. However, I do feel as if it's pretty balanced out at the moment. Also it's filled with sociable and fun people that also carry over their posture on the forum quite well to the game.

Alternating servers? You mean playing on EU and US servers? You connect to either a US or EU server depending on what the queued's preferred region is set to. Unlike MMORPG's and the like, you simply connected to a US or EU server with your single account, no alternating neccesary.
